So today is the conclusion of week two. What are your thoughts on the raid and current keys?
Personally enjoying the raid myself. Keys feel good too.

I started tanking raid for the first time this tier, so I may be biased, but I love Amirdrassil. My favorite fight is Tindral since it feels so good to be mid-fight and fly to the different platforms so quickly. You still feel the rush from being in combat while you have the amazing flight backdrop of the emerald dream.
I also really enjoy the Fyrakk fight because it is challenging for me personally as a new tank, but I still got a kill my first week. I got the Iridescent Soulcleaver off of Smolderon too which gave me some joy.

So far my favorite fight is Nyume. The leaves and following the tank are pretty cool.
Congrats on soulcleaver. I love hearing about about people being challenged and overcoming it. It’s such a good feeling.

I went 8/9 with the same group then they fell apart on Fyrakk. I also was skimming a guide and missed the Dreamrend mechanic which they hardly emphasized at all but it was obviously detrimental.
After the Dreamrend incident they lost faith and we cycled through 2 other raid leaders and then the 3rd removed me from the group before we pulled again. I found another group and refined my tanking on Fyrakk but they ultimately kept messing up the intermission phase orbs so I left them and then 2 shot Fyrakk in the next group. No loot off him though, sadly. But ready for a clean clear this week.

I’m having fun this season, but so far everything seems under-tuned. I think KSM’/KSH is going to be a walk in the park for anyone who puts a little bit of effort into gearing. And I haven’t really pushed heroic raid yet…but normal feels exactly like LFR so anyone could probably do it. I have heard heroic is a big step up, so I guess we’ll see how that goes.
But if anyone is interested in trying out end-game content, this is probably the best season ever to do it.

It’s good to hear pug groups are able to get full clears. I’m assuming it’s normal? It’s ok to miss things as long as you learn from it. No one is perfect.
Our first Nyume pull we didn’t know you needed the leaves to cleanly pass the lines. Was very comical.

It was normal
To Nikolo’s point a lot of the bosses are gimmes (ie: Gnarlroot, Igra, Volc). However, normal is typically pretty easy iirc and heroic is the real check. On Fyrakk I can imagine the blazes add a ton of depth to the fight so I look forward to doing that once I get the gear. Even on council the bear cleave turns into a frontal and the charge gives a debuff so that would be a lot more interesting.

My guild got our aotc last night.
First week we hit a little wall at smolderon due to 30 people and probably some gear issues.
Pushed last night. I think we had 2 pulls on the Druid boss and 5 pulls on fyarkk. We def were over geared though.

My favorite raid in a really really long time despite not being a fan of the final boss lore/personality. I love the look and some of the bosses are fun instead of just frustrating (my favorite is the boomkin boss, I don’t know why but I love the mushrooms and mass entanglement, its like a druid on steroids.)
Keys are all great this season with the exception of ToT and Rise both of which need minor adjustments to make them fun.

i’ve only done the lfr as i can not be bothered to dedicate myself to a raid team / set schedule to play further. In LFR its nice for a raid, i applaud them for making unique mechanics but sadly as i say many times on the forums, raiding just isn’t that fun.

I’m having a blast but I haven’t really settled on what I want to focus on. Been loving my bear druid cause druid is just fun this xpac and being an Owl Bear is lit.
Paladin is my go to (this toon) - but not really looking forward to the 4 set tbh.
Been learning Disc Priest after the changes and its been a blast healing the raids. Some of the bosses with healer focused mechanics have been a blast to me.

You can definitely pug normal on your own terms this tier, Smold and Fyrakk you may see some turnover but otherwise it will be smooth.

I guess its a matter of perspective. I’m in a casual occasional AOTC raid, and there have definitely been normal raids that we have struggled on…especially the last boss. I would say that it is normal for us to spend the first month or so per tier working on clearing normal. This tier we cleared the first week with almost no effort in gearing. So, from my experience, this tier is much easier that what we typically get.

Normal and the bit of heroic I’ve done so far have been fun.
It’s refreshing to have a final boss that doesn’t kill to by knocking you off a platform, haven’t had that since BFA.
Keys to raid difficulty seems pretty out of balance. The +16-17 keys I’ve done have been way easier than any heroic raid bosses I’ve done except maybe Gnarlroot and Volcorass.

Yup pugged on my hunter on normal and got an invite despite being 437ilvl in about 5 min and cleared everything to the last 2 bosses in under 2 hours with 0 wipes. The raid fell apart at the point because the leader left and people just ditched instead of refilling.
We had several pulls on heroic council and its a fun fight. For my guild at least its been us tanks holding us up as we had to get used to positioning for the frontal, making sure to not get turned into a duck during the raging mechanic, and calling out groups to soak the charge as well as aiming the charge. It seems to be the most tank heavy fight so far.

For sure subjective. My last full clear of a raid tier was H Ny’alotha and I remember jumping straight to heroic really quickly with my guild but that may not have been the standard for other tiers.
I will also add that I typically jump back into the game for the final raid tier of most expansions, so the fact that by then there’s a lot of catch up gear available when I return also may lead to some bias on my part.
