Thoughts on Queen ansurek heroic difficulty?

I actually consider myself a PUG expert since I bascally have PGGED 95% of heroic by myself since NZOTH

I feel the toughet heroic bosses for me have been 2-3 of them since nzoth but I am beginning to think that while Queen is a good fight, might be one of the tougher ones we have seen in awhile.

Lot of tough mechs and a slight dps check, its definetely one of he tougher mechanical p1 heroic fights we have seen in a long time. Sire and sylvanas had these dps heavy checks p1 if you want to call it that,

I dont want anyone saying its “easy:”" since we are 4 weeks in and lot of 7/8 players, you can say its 'easy" but that means that 95% of plyerbase are really really bad ( may o may not be true)

It’s basically smack-dab between Raszageth (way too hard in its initial state by AotC standards) and Sarkareth/Fyrakk (very easy by AotC standards) in terms of difficulty as reflected by the amount each of those bosses were killed by this point in their respective seasons.

I think Ansurek’s fine. Absolutely not free in the slightest, but fine.

Mechanically I like Ansurek a lot. The exploding poison thing at the start to knock you over the wave is interesting, but thats the most stressful part of the fight. Cause like, with weird hitboxes you gotta be CAREFUL once you’re even near the circle.

Past that though, overall, really really well designed raid. Up to heroic, mechanics are (generally) intriguing but not overwhelming. And most mechanics are definitely punishing if you fail them, but not outright wipes. Thoroughly happy with that.

It’s average would have been interesting if she had a bit more hp so you had to do a bit more of p3 on heroic.

I still like the fight overall.

its easy

As a Rogue, I find Queen easy. I can’t explain why yet. Although I haven’t attempted it on Heroic yet, I could be filtered by it for all I know. But it’s night and day compared to some of these fights where people can pad adds and tunnel the boss without having to move while I get every mechanic. I’m mostly talking about ranged, who can get a mechanic and move 2 inches, then continue DPSing.

I’m like 50/50 for this boss. The mechanics by themselves are cool, the idea of the fight is nice too and it feels like It has a lot of different paces. But with that said, t’s pretty annoying to do overall in H. Bunch of overlaps that creates just a bunch of necessity for big damage/heals even if you do things right, rng affecting fights (specially last boss fights) it’s annoying, also feels like she drags the fight off too much, after a few wipes it gets very tiresome.

Could be the way this season is going but I’m not really into the mood for fighting for Aotc at all. I’ll go after it after a month or 2, so dps check isn’t an issue and I get the kill by doing things right with the right people.

The mechanics are incredibly simple so it’s not a hard fight. They’re just incredibly punishing and 1 person making a single mistake wipes your raid. Easy encounter, made difficult by bad players.

It’s a nightmare for pugs. Anytime there is wipe mechanics and player responsibility pugging is hard. I killed her, and don’t intend to do it again h til the nerfs. Was lucky and got her trinket in the vault so I’m done with her.

Fun boss. Requires pug to do mechanics so not a fun experience for pugs though I guess.

The difficulty is mostly just in how punishing it is if just 1 player messes up. Which makes it a very unfriendly fight for PUGs.

A fight like Raz had more difficult mechanics, but it was less punishing for individual mistakes.

i wouldnt say that queen is one of the harder “aotc” bosses.

i think the problem boils down to the fact that this is the 1st xpac where 99% of “pug” groups and average non mythic / heroic guilds are only mixed with champion and heroic items.

normally like in dragonflight, shadowlands etc… most players had 3-4 mythic items by now and out geared the heroic bosses.

these m+ changes with the crests and mythic vault got your average guilds and puggers alike barely at heroic ilvl.

Overall fine, probably could use a bit more HP so that you’re not almost force-phasing on a prog kill.

I agree with the general difficulty that tendies said.

It doesn’t feel like Razageth difficulty where you basically have a time trial at the end and you’re struggling to push everything out as the thunder circle gets smaller.

It’s relatively easy to setup portal, bring down middle and little adds.
Final assessment:
Progression and pugs - 8/10 difficulty.
Organised group - 5/10

Too many people in PUGs wanna parse and not do mechs or read chat.

You give them a pop assignment and they won’t do it or go to the wrong one.

They also consistently think they can eat the web blades and a healer can magically save them, throwing each and every pull.

It’s what happens when the playerbase is conditioned to buy/pay for boosts and play for the timegates instead of grinding. People get greedy and stop caring and don’t want to play for real, when they know they’re gonna wind up waiting for the weekly mobile game great vault and catalyst and crafted gear lootz.

Blizzard sabotaged meaningful progression so now the playerbase has adjusted for the worse.

50 wipes in the first minute or two figuring out bombs then explodes.

Not for nothing, but the last heroic group I was in did indeed have several people who were talking about parses on every pull, complaining about the impact on their parses if/when they died, and verbally declining to deal with mechanics when asked.

Are parses actually important for anything? Is this like the WoW equivalent of a résumé or something?

More like people wanna cheat said resume so they try to pad their numbers even if it’s a throw.

Tank here, it hits hard.

Parses matter if you’re trying to get into Mythic.

The issue is that a lot of people, usually the DPS, think they’re better than they really are. Like how being a Diamond rank in Overwatch means means you’re good at the game and understand the fundamentals on what it takes to be good at the game… and in WoW terms, it means you know how to do all the basics. AOTC is at the edge of casual and hardcore content. Most players fall into the casual side, despite them claiming otherwise.

For example, I might have multiple 95+ parses as a healer in Normal mode. But that’s only possible when the group takes a lot of unnecessary damage and/or we under-heal. And going to Heroic, because my item level is low, I cannot really push my 608-610 shaman to the 619-621 item level healers. So, I might get 70’s overall, but 90’s for my item level.

But no one cares about healer parses, because they depend on a lot of random factors. DPS focuses on personal gameplay though… so DPS parses matter.

This just says I can play my role well. And combined with something like AOTC, it means I know the fights. So it makes me a good, reliable player… for Normal and Heroic. But again, this is just casual content.
