Thoughts on Hunter

Its just that a few videos of those people were shown and the big one was named Karen… usually all have the same haircut as well.

It aint just because they argue, but because they do it in the extreme to the point they go for the supervisor or will call the authorities in the matter. Even will go to sue a 8 year boy because they found the child to be vulgar… you know… that kind of crazy.

I get it, but sweeping generalizations from limited anecdotes is a silly problem.

It’s why many people think all cops and lawyers are corrupt or that all priests are pedophiles etc…

I mean two the meanest people I know are left handed, does that mean I should avoid left handed people? That’s how moronic I think many stereotypes are, including this Karen internet fad that will likely die in a couple of years like pogs did.

Takes deep breath and steps off of soapbox

Unlikely because that would require Karens to stop being Karens.

You are aware of the night elf hunter stereotype right? That one is at least tied to a person’s own choices and not that of their parents.

Fighting side by side your pet would have been so much better.

Going to have to be more specific.

As someone who just came back to the game, I definitely never would have done so if they’d made BM melee, and I would certainly unsub in an instant if they ever do. If I can’t be a dwarf with a gun and two pets, count me out.

I’ve been playing really casual lately and used to raid on my old account in wrath and cata. My only thoughts on the class are it sure would be nice to see BM and MM able to compete in high level PvP. Even if I don’t play it much

If MM wasn’t so dogsh*t is be playing it. Forced to do surv because it’s just miles better(PvP) than the other choices. I don’t care about fantasy, I just want an MM spec that doesn’t die from an enemy sneezing around it.

Ultimately, they shouldnt have forced any of the hunter specs into playing melee. It would be nice if they implemented an option for it or introduced a new spec that would be equivalent to what survival currently is that would have probably made more people happy than the current situation. Now that im a bit more willing to try out specs than i was when i was younger i’d like to see what old survival had to offer, but the only way to do that would be to go play on a classic realm. Legion did a lot of good things IMO, but a lot of polarizing decisions were made with the shift to the spec focused classes. ultimately i like the changes that came out of it as it makes the themes for the specs stronger, but I also see why some people love or hate the changes that came with it. For marksman i still wish they would stick to a theme. Its a bit jarring to go from these steady and slow nuke shots to just unloading my quiver on a whim. I dont know how it would be best to go about fixing this gripe, but its a fairly minor gripe. I do still like marksman even if it is kind of butt.

You can still try out ranged Survival in its Explosive Shot days; you just have to break the ToS to do it.

I bagged a ~550k fury warrior today in a 1v1 encounter. Without a certain self-healing trinket, it took relatively little effort. I was impressed as I only had a Rank 3 cloak and no corruption gear.

Unlike SV, you have to actually know what you’re doing as MM to get results. Knowing how to open, timing your gap-openers and incaps, etc…

If anything, its about equal (if not more) that you have to think with SV to get results in pvp.

SV is designed with the usual melee mindset in mind: go hard until you have to go soft. It’s easier. But MM has to go hard all the time. Go hard or hit the gas.

That fury warrior must’ve been pretty bad.

This time I had the best I could ask for positioning and range. But back in 8.2.5 I could last 2 minutes against a self-healing Fury. So really, I wasn’t surprised the fight would have ended much sooner…in my favor.

Speak for yourself and f off.

My point was that it would have been able to keep the specialization theme intact better than survival did, not that it should have been done. I like all the hunter classes, they all have their flaws but they are all fun. Calm yourself, friend.

Has that ever been the Beast Master’s identity? Certainly in Legion and BfA, the BM hunter does not fight alongside the pet instead the pet is the primary combatant and the hunter supports it. I can’t imagine a situation where a BM hunter would fight alongside his pet. If any spec deserves the description of “fights alongside his pet” it would be Survival.

I think Survival should get more gadgets to go along with their bombs and traps.

Where is your logic in this? I don’t get it / understand it. Beastmastery would 100% be more “fights alongside their pet.” Having instant control of your pets in the melee range with you, while you have two pets attacking at the same time. Beastial Wraith where you literally act like an animal to get enraged, makes sense to do it alongside your pets.

Survival just historically had some melee talent choices to help you escape the deadzone, otherwise to claim it should be the fight alongside pet spec is very odd… I mean it vaguely links it to melee since the deadzone is no longer a thing and Hunter evolved past that. Almost as if the original survival talents became moot. I mean if we do use that as our basis for it being melee, Survival also had ranged CC wyvern sting, so there’s that.

Coordinated Assault was an addition to make it similar to beastial wrath, thoughtless and lacking any fantasy.

The vast majority of a bm’s damage is from the pet and most of the rotation and CDs involve buffing the pet. Yes, the Hunter gets some benefit but at the end of the fight Pet Damage >>>> BM Hunter.

It was certainly like that in legion too. Granted I started playing in legion, but even then BM had an old reputation of “your pet does everything”. With beast mastery, the Hunter supports the Pet and not the other way around. It’s not an equal partnership.
