Thoughts on [Healer Protection] Addon?

I pretty much just spam LFD as a healer and listen to music. Just encountered this in a 5man while leveling an alt.

Worthless Elf tank screaming help me in chat and voice emote @ every stun / silence, incapacitate etc mechanic they couldn’t be bothered to avoid.

I guess people don’t read instance chat these days.
Unfortunately /ignore doesn’t prevent voice emotes from playing.

If you use this addon, bully for you just st-fu in the settings please.

Edit for context: Slag Mines run so every pack in there has multiple stuns and silences unless you know the place and can you know… step out of the way.

I’ve ran into it, a friend uses it on her healer. It’s, interesting. But I can see how it could get really annoying real quick.

I have seen this addon a whopping total of 1 time, it got annoying very quick.

Seems like just another way for people to not talk to eachother and tanks to totally ignore the group.

Demonstrably I mean “dude, that addon is garbage. You know I can see when you’re CC’d right?”

I mean, my friend is a good m+ healer, it didn’t trigger often on her. But on noobs. ouch.

Seriously lol

I have a keybind for mute all sounds. I wonder if there’s a quick way to zero out voices.

Luckily it can’t be common or I’m really lucky because it’s the first time I’ve seen it.

At first I was like “did we trigger some weird escort quest I’ve never heard of because if so please let this bish die. The rewards are immaterial.”

Wow that is frustrating. I don’t like macros the emote of yell stuff in game under any circumstance I can think of. They don’t add anything useful and I have missed important information by it being hidden behind speech bubbles.

Agreed. I guess because we’re in a group /ignore doesn’t effect voiced emotes? Not really sure, seems like an oversight.

People who macro stupid stuff like “Come here!!” on deathgrip

Addon spamming is really obnoxious, but I appreciate a good macro spam when I see it.

I’ve still got a macro of “Monkey on Me!”, which I think is a leftover of a ToC fight when I used to raid without a headset to communicate. I’ll still bind it to mouse wheel every so often.

Wow, I’ve never seen this addon before, looks super annoying. I think if the tank has bare minimum tanking skills, they would know when they don’t have aggro on something.

Oh it is and you would think…

The party chat spam is whatever because who cares, annoying addons are a dime a dozen but it was combined with the voiced emotes that really got me going.

As much as I appreciate elves screaming for help it’s typically followed pretty swiftly by me snacking on their corpses.

Here lunch wasn’t an option lol

My friends who play rogue say in discord “obnoxious 5 buff weak aura” rather than having one. Usually gets a laugh lol

I uh, may have recently made a macro for lifegrip that /giggle at whoever is the target. Maybe.

The petty part of me wants to make a response macro containing instructions on how to properly setup that addon XD

It posts to /i as a warning which is fine, whatever… but it also uses a voice emote.

“help me, help me, help me”

Half hour of that and helping won’t be on your mind :crazy_face:

oh dear god. They actually found a way to make running group content even MORE annoying, lol. :laughing:
yeah…I’ll be ignoring players who use it if I cross it. That would put me over the edge

Apparently there’s no specific target for determining the Dialog volume in a macro or any conditionals I can think of so… guess it’s just your typical Mute Sound & Ignore player solution.
