Just as the title says. What are your thoughts on this? I think using BFA to bring in more players and force them to level through these zones is a horrible idea and will end up being a mistake. This expansion as a whole has a very bad reputation as being the worst (Personally, I find WoD to be the worst with this as a close second). A level squish would have been great WITHOUT changing the level up experience.

No, all new players on new accounts have to level through BFA first

Idk what’s so bad about leveling through BfA. The questing content in Kul’Tiras was top notch. Play through drustvar, that sets a great tone of quality content.
BfA gets a bad wrap for more AP grind and end game content. Not really for the leveling zones besides maybe the scaling.

No, no they must level only in Desolace, shadowmoon, zuldrak, kasarang, gorgrond, and only Suramar then do all of BFA. Cause…time played = having fun correctly

BFAs badness has nothing to do with the leveling experience so no, I don’t see an issue with it. On top of that, new players aren’t coming into the game with our level of jaded.

Don’t want new players to level through BfA, but you are OK with them not changing the levelling experience, which, would put players smack in the middle of BfA to level up to 50.
Uh, no. That is pretty bad (Really bad actually) comprehension. I’m very clearly pointing out that locking the entire world of experience to new players is a horrible idea. 50 levels of BFA? People really find this good?
BfA had great leveling and going through it would create a coherent story that smoothly transitions into the Shadowlands content. Right now leveling through the expansions has very incoherent continuity, which I’m sure confuses a lot of new players unfamiliar with Warcraft lore.
Keep in mind leveling from 10-50 will be like leveling 110-120.

My understanding is:
Level 1-10 in a new zone
10-50 in any expansion
50-60 in Shadowlands
Not sure where “forced to do BfA” is coming from? Is it the default path unless you talk to Chromie?
(Edit: ok, indeed appears Chromie is not available until you have levelled a character)
Also not sure where the OP’s random hatred of BfA leveling is coming from. Not being new player, I have a hard time seeing where roadblocks might come from.

NEW PLAYERS start on the new island then they HAVE to level through BFA first. They DO NOT have a choice of the other expansions. Watch the deep dive video if you haven’t, clearly most of you haven’t
I see both sides.
I can see how tired and dated the old stuff is, and for a new player it makes you think the game is a bit backwards. Going right to bfa they see more recent graphics and storytelling to help them get hooked earlier on. It’s also a great place to level.
But… I can also see how it’s just kinda sad new people won’t see the old original stuff. The stuff that made WoW, wow.

Currently you have to go through WoD > Legion > BfA. But moving into 9.0 they are allowing you to run ANY expansion from 10-50, not just BfA.
They way you said it was like you were happy they were leaving it as is, which would force people to go the BfA route, the new way you can choose any way you want and can skip any expansion you want, just choose a zone you like and level.
New players are forced to do 10-50 in BFA.

How would a brand new player know what is and isn’t good questing?
BfA Leveling isn’t that bad I’d say, everything else about BfA was, though.
New accounts are “forced” to do BfA to have a lead-in story for Shadowlands.
Wrong, new players are allowed to choose ANY expansion to level in.
