Thoughts on Dracthyr Customization as of Now

I’ve been playing around on my Dracthyr a little bit, and here are some of my thoughts on the class, let me know if you guys agree.

  1. I love that you can also make purple, pink, white, and even “infinite” Dracthyr; however, can we also have more scale tones that match the original “Classic” dragon scales?

At the moment, there is no option for the original black dragon scales (which are this dark brown/red-ish tone) or red dragons (which are a much stronger red than currently available).

  1. I love the armor which the dracthyr form has, and I love that my visage form has his own armor; however, can you please separate the dracthyr transmog from the visage transmog?

I’d like to be able to transmog my visage form completely separately from my dracthyr form. As it stands, we cannot transmog the dracthyr armor onto our visage form. My dracthyr form uses dracthyr shoulder armor and belt armor, but because my visage form can’t have that, I have to use another belt and shoulderpads for my visage form. When I do, it messes up my dracthyr form’s shoulder and belt armor… so at the moment my visage form isn’t wearing shoulder armor nor a belt so it doesn’t mess up my dracthyr form.

  1. I love that the Dracthyr have a “sort-of” flying ability with them; however, since they have wings, can you please consider allowing them to have a sort of flying form of the Worgen’s “Running Wild” ability?

I’d like for both Dracthyr and Demon Hunters to have a “Flying Wild” ability, where, when they are out of combat, they can “mount up” (1.5 second cast, out of combat) and fly using their own wings.

Druids are able to fly without even a cast time, so it would be nice if at the very least dracthyr and demon hunters could also fly since they have wings.

  1. I love that we’re able to add scales onto our visage forms; however, can the “none” option for face scales really be NONE?

Sometimes I want my visage form to look completely scale-less and blend in perfectly with human/elven society. I cannot yet do that because my guy and girl always have forehead scales… I dislike this.

  1. Can we have more dragon customization options for the visage form?

It’d also be nice if we could have some more dragon-themed customization for the visage form. Perhaps they could have their ears change into fins or horns or something? Perhaps they could have some 3D art as part of their physical body? Perhaps a tail?

  1. Finally, while I like that there are 4 different body types to choose from, I’d like a 5th one which had a thicker neck, bigger jaw, and more broad-shouldered look.

I really like the way that the gargoyles of Revendreth look; I’m talking about something like that. More muscular than the 4th body, but less muscular than the current Drakonid body.

What other changes do you guys want to be added for them?

Oh, also, I forgot:

  1. I would LOVE if you guys could allow all transmog to show on the dracthyr form.

I know that they have 4 new body types to rig all the armor onto, but I think it’s a very worthwhile venture.

It is odd… I think my guy looks the closest to it (I used the only “brown” scaletone I could find with the yellow wing webbing), but even that looks miles away from the litteral black wings “backpack” we got for buying the expansion…

I don’t know why they chose to not allow us to have that combination of scaletones.

Pretty much agree with everything you’ve said OP.

My personal wants are:
A more blood red look, the maroon red is ok, but the other red is a little bright and ugly to me.
A black look(just like worgen still need black fur) would be nice…the dark gray is ok, but black would be so much better.
More barbershop armor styles/colors for the Dracthyr form. As it stands now, both my blue and my red Dracthyr have to use the gray/black armor because the other color options just do not look right on them.
I know this won’t happen for a couple years at least, but I wish we would could make at least 2 Dracthyr per server. I really only have two servers I play on, one for alliance and one for horde…I don’t really want to make another alt on a random server and level it to 50 just so I can make another dracthyr. I don’t do boosts…althoughhhh I do have the 60 boost…so maybe…but I really like having my horde and alliance together…meh.
Anyway, everything else you said OP is pretty much on par with what I think…more or less.

All I can say is after making a Dracthyr, they need to expand the other races. It’s a bit ridiculous how customizable they are. My void elf had like 4 hair choices.

Caveat to this if I may, but only if they allow us to separate Visage and Dracthyr forms, and only if they allow us to hide pants on the Dracthyr form at least. Just letting Dracthyr simply use the mail appearance from Visage would cause too many problems. :frowning:

Edit: to be clear though, I agree with your post. More options are always good, and it’s stupid they can’t fly. I just don’t want the options we already have taken away is all. :frowning:

I was a little bummed there wasn’t a strong orange-colored underbelly. Not only is that the closest color match for classic Black dragons, but it’s also a good color for people wanting a modern generic red dragon if they don’t care about Flight lore. Even the darkest orange set to “strong” isn’t very…strong. I also wish there was a medium green. We only have either a pale green or a…dark teal ish.

These are minor gripes, though. What we do have is awesome!

The problem I have is with marks colors. Only dark choices are available.

I would change color to dark yellow in a beat if only I could choose a light color for markings.

It does make me sad that I can’t make my Dracthyr resemble as kin to the black dragonflight. Especially since they were made by Neltharion himself. But really that’s my only complaint about their customization. Just a shame they couldn’t add it considering how vastness it almost feels with the choices you have

This is as close to a “black dragon” that I could get my guy to be.

Oddly, Emberthal has a scale-tone that is completely different from all other Dracthyr…

i dont know if this was just a visual glitch or something but I saw a dracthyr in oribos a few days ago, in dragon-form, and all of their mog showed on it…

it looked really cool.

Dracthyr do get armor as part of their “customization” options. It was most likely that.

My biggest issues are with colors atm

Hair colors don’t match body/accent colors well enough. So my abyssal blue themed drac can’t really have a visage form that matches at all.

The markings colors are all very dull, I originally wanted to recreate an albino drac for ally, and a chromatic drac for horde, but I can’t get that nice teal for the pattern scales (or that rich yellow for the wings/stomach)

I wish the non-flight armor colors had options that weren’t so monotonous.

I wish we had ANY jewelry / underwear colors that were non-flight affiliated.
(It’s odd that we have to be so visually aligned to one flight, when we’re supposed to be a mix of all flights right?)

If we can’t choose the race of the visage, can we at least get some non-human skin tones? (Though, really, can we use other races? please? I hate to sound like an ingrate, because the visage form got a LOT of combos, but I just don’t like the human female vibe they give :T)

Non-color critiques are,

All these hairstyles and we got two with bangs. :sob: Y does blizzard love the forehead so much???

Can we get 1 female face without permanently pouty lips? The corners of the upper lip on all faces poke out SO FAR, and lighting does some weird things to them, not to mention how tiring it is to look at my character sustaining a permanent duckface. :kissing: :grimacing:

Shako hood looks so tight! I wear it because the goomba head is very pronounced without it, (pls enlarge heads >.<), but I wish it would rest farther away from the face to allow some of the cheek customizations.

And I’m gonna be another person to ask for the separation of the visage form and the dracform for transmogs. Or like give us a glyph for visage to disable dracform transmog sets. The whole barbershop armor thing is too cohesive, for really any of my shoulders/tabards/belts to work.

They could of easily expand to other races.
The current visage forms while with their many, many interesting options are just resulting into the same few bland and boring same face and haircuts. No matter how much you atrempt to say other wise. Dracthyr seem to have a lot as well lacking. Just from the intro quest line, there is a wide range of environments to be inspired from.

Forests/Woodlands
Wetlands
Highlands
Barren/Tundra

Why such cliché options such as fins, spikes and horns? Feathers would be great. Possibly moss and fern (wicker / foliage) grown across the scales.

I love the Dracthyr form just hoping that they either add a new barber shop Armour set every .1/.5 patch or a couple every Expansion considering we’re probably not gonna get Transmog.

As for the visage absolutely hate it looks hideous and honestly makes no sense ignoring a ton of the lore around Visages and the multiple ways Dragons use them, like if Neltharion was to give Dracthyr visages it’d only make sense for Infiltration which well the current visage form is absolutely useless at that.

Yeah…

While I want to see more dragon themes for the visage form, there is currently no option to blend in completely as either a blood elf or a human.

Leaf-shaped ears, snake eyes, scales on the forehead… yup! That’s a dragon…
