Scripting 2400 Blitz on Warrior is wild.
ez games fun games
You want to get rid of the venue cheaters use to expose themselves?
Are these bots as in completely afk/automated glider-style? Or like combat routines and they just steer the character while it does max damage and kicks everything perfectly?
yes when hes free
We’ve seen both although exceedingly rare. The full automated bots had a ton of issues, like not leaving the starting room but if the fight went there they functioned. Saw that a few times in one of the dragonflight seasons. The other is just a script that presses abilities for you, not sure how it works with defensives/kicks but pokemans had used this quite successfully grabbing a few titles before getting the ban then returning on a new account.
Yeah in df the full bots were pretty bad with movement. Scripting was always a bigger issue. I wonder how much addon removal helps. Probably won’t do anything without kernel level anti-cheat.
dang recheck the thread seems they updated their spec roster quiet a bit even has tank specs LMAO
You move your character they do everything else.
I keep on sayin it and have for a long time. Ppl underestimate the amount of cheaters on ladder.
There are quite a handful of programs with discords like that. The bigger ones have thousands of members, even one of the smaller ones i came across 6 months ago has like 1200 members alrdy posting their screenshots.
That is a very large amount of players using rotation bots/cheats on ladder. Sure they get hit with banwaves and have recently, that don’t stop the bot makers from finding the vulnerability, bringing it back online and the players rolling new accts.
The only thing that would slow them up was if it was giga hard to level and gear lol
or insta close battle net account for using a Bot/cheat to make rewards useless
It would help if they actually put forth an effort to catch them quicker. Pokemans went two seasons in a row getting shuffle titles and glad before being banned the first time. The current evoker bug abusing or basically cheating in 2s even with overwhelming proof is still going strong. If their automated ban system doesn’t catch it they simply take too long to do anything.
This is a legitimate con of how fast and easy it is to gear now and I’m honestly unsure if the pros outweigh the cons.
I personally feel that they do because I love to pvp and pve on every class, but this inevitable results in fotm rerolling, leapfrogging, and more cheating because you can have a new char with the same gear literally the next day for a few $$$.
I just don’t even get how it’s fun to cheat in pvp. I honestly would understand/respect botting to farm gold or something more… Back when I was a teenager I messed around with aimbots in halo/CSS, and they were fun for like 20 min until it just got boring. There’s absolutely 0 sense of accomplishment
But it doesn’t surprise me that the tech has gotten better. Even a decade ago, the combat routines/kickbots/totem stomp bots/etc were pretty sophisticated. Obviously they aren’t just going to stop.
Just as an anectodal note, I used to be pretty good at fake casting, but now I barely even try to because a decent amount of the time, my opponents just feel unfakeable. Maybe I’m just old and slow now, but idk. Also noticed a lot of sketchy melds (ie, melding/fading storm bolts perfectly 6 games in a row, which is unlikely), or people stunning/gripping/etc stuff like gates or leaps absolutely perfectly every single time for an entire lobby. Once or twice, maybe, but theres no way anyone is doing it that consistently every time
I stopped playing Rust because it seemed like everyone was headshotting with crossbows and had like 100 hours /played.
Rust got so bad when they went to this stupid scrap and research system I haven’t played since
The only cheater is you.
Cheating on me.
I was even gonna give you the waldo…
10chars mafia
No, it really wouldn’t because there are bots for that too. In D3 long after I quit Leaderboard I used one and they were more efficient than 4 people in group. If you could program that level of automated decision making in to that game you could rather easily I imagine do a ‘leveling bot.’ That was 8 ish years ago, I can’t imagine how efficient these things would be today, considering you could see the improvements week to week back then.
I agree that there is a lot more of this going on and people want to ignore it, for what reasons IDK. What I’m getting at is that it would be super easy to just write a level bot so ultimately this would only punish the player base more than the cheaters.
The company could start actioning this anytime. Unlike the D3 servers these servers actually log so that makes botting way easier to detect. However, the company decided they wanted a piece of the action money wise so they’ll never hit these super hard. Massive inflation to MAU from bots, massive token sales to support RMT or big MAU increase to farm the gold. Any angle you come at this issue from you’re going to run into the speed bump of it being wildly profitable for the company.
What I find asinine is that they’re the language police but the integrity of the ladder/M+/Raid means nothing to them because the team thinks that allowing cheating is more profitable because they can milk token/gold farming for their garbage success metrics. Not attacking you, just my 2 copper brother. The company needs people who want to create a quality product that stands on its own two feet, not one that drives most people out while milking a % of the player base through RMT features such as Bot sales or Boost Services for a small profit.
Not exceedingly rare. The players just dissapear after ban wave and return with their wow 9 account geared again.
Your likelihood of running into a cheater is most certainly exceedingly rare. It’s important to recognize this before people try using it as an excuse more so than they already do.
