So if you asked me in summer 2019 if I wanted Cataclysm classic I would have said obviously not. But blizzard seems to have fully embraced vanilla WoW which I love. The biggest problem i have with cata is dragon soul and the world change as im sure many of yall feel the same. But with classic era being there for good I dont feel im actually losing the old world as I can hop on there and play anytime I want.
I also had the realization that with wotlk the old world is already completely dead (and im not talking about population). Wrath class balance and gameplay already made the content extremely trivial and now RDF is in the game so the soul of the old world is already completely crushed in wrath regardless.
Anyways I found that with the difficulty of the raids ramping up from ICC and on to cata ive been enjoying having a bit of a challenge in raiding again while not getting completely out of hand.
Long story short im weirdly excited for cata and I used to be a “never cata” player. I really hope that population will spike again and everyone will at least enjoy T11 and T12 and keep the pop somewhat stable. Im sure DS will be a very short phase unless it involves some massive changes. The raids look great and ive heard the class balance and design is great. Pvp also is supposedly the best its ever been in cata. And im extremely looking forward to what is probably my favorite xpac MoP. Either way im here for the ride and il continue playing classic era as well
I understand theres a desire out there for wrath and tbc era servers and i can respect that and i hope yall get what you want but please keep this thread about cataclsym, thats the entire reason i made it.
I would have said yes. As much as Wrath, TBC and any other iteration before BFA.

That’s fair. Although its not the worst raid design-wise, most #1 worst raids are in Wrath, but being the last raid and it lasting 1 year made it look worse. If ICC didn’t have LK and the overall frozen theme it would have been the same.
Some and it’s a very weak argument, even back then. The old zones are very dated and had barely any relevance past Vanilla.
Absolutely. Era will always be there for you to ACTUALLY explore the old zones.

Wrath is in a big decline because its over and it was just a mediocre expansion overall.
Make it a 6-month raid tier and it fixes all problems. It’s not a terrible raid and still has difficulty to it.
Than any previous expansion, yes, which is in fact not hard because the 3 first ones are just terrible imbalanced.
MoP beats everything tho.
Most people are hyped for MoP. Probably the best WoW expansion on paper.
Ya i definitely think wrath ended up having 2 of the worst raid tiers ive ever done in the revamp naxx and togc. It was a mixed bag and didnt have much else going on. Overall id say wotlk is exceptionally overrated. And ya i freaking love MoP the raids are so good and the extra world content is so good that they used the same template for YEARS. I also love the class design everyone just goes crazy and its so fun
My best leveling and game exploration came between Cata and MoP. So I’ve been ready for a long time. I just hope that this SoD type atmosphere doesn’t get mixed into the Reboot.
Hopefully. I don’t think Tol Barad ever got an instanced queue option in Retail, unlike Wintergrasp, so it depends how much work the Classic team wants to do.
On retail, it’s just a battleground now. Doesn’t actually affect TB raid access afaik.
Without same treatment as WG, TB will be dead. and Baradin Hold will always be 1 sided.
It should really be the same as WG. Right before the battle starts, you get queued into it.
I think if wrath classic taught us anything were certainly getting TB instanced. What im more curious about is what the “with changes” they had in mind are. Everyone could figure out titan tune is coming back and instanced TB is surely coming. But what else do they have in mind? It seems theyve been too busy with SoD and havent talked much about what cata changes theyre doing

It confirmed Protocol dungeons, revamped Auction House and modern transmog. They’ve mentioned little xp boots to leveling. So likely an alternative to JJ xp buff, just limited to some specific level brackets.

My biggest wish really is just more on hands tuning. More adaptive buffs/nerfs to under/over performing specs.

Ya i feel like everyone wants to see cut content return. Even though FL is supposed to be great T11 is the only tier with an actual full major patches worth of content so i think they would do themselves a great disservice to not try and put something like abyssal maw in

Nothing. The people that hate Cata hate Cata regardless and the people that enjoy Cata just want Cata.
Even adding something like the old zones through Chromie is a waste of dev time.
