Alright, so we know that Shadow/void magic is pretty much completely and totally banned in Quel’thalas on pain of exile. I sort of skirted it by customizing my Belf Priest as a Darkfallen (basically being bargain bin undead and for some reason the concept of Undead Priest intrigues me)
But I kind of got to thinking recently. In Telogrus Rift not only do the Void elves have High Elf visitors but also Blood elves coming as well. I don’t know, I guess I got to thinking is it possible to be a Blood elf Shadow Priest while remaining loyal to the Horde and Silvermoon? Finding refuge in Telogrus with the Void elves but fighting for the Horde?
Just don’t tell them that you’re dabbling in shadow magic, what they don’t know won’t hurt them. From personal experience, they generally frown upon bathing in the stuff to the point of speaking in tongues and sprouting tentacles. That seems to be the breaking point.

As said above, it’s like humans and warlocks. Just don’t tell anyone, and don’t let anyone see you playing with wrigglers.
I’m not sure about Telogrus Rift. Going there would be more defecting to the Alliance. It could get cleaned up in Midnight, but what the ren’dorei have going on looks more culty than just practice.
That would happen every time Alleria invited her sisters Sylvanas and Vereesa over for tea.
I think the main difference is that Blood Elf Priests have an “off button”, so to speak.
Void Elves are permanently and intrinsically tied to the Void.
I like to think that there is a difference between direct connection with the void, and then dabbling in the steam of the void. Void Elves being the former, and shadow priests the latter.
The latter is more secure, and no less corrupting than dealing with the arcane or fel, compared to going directly to the source.
The Void Elves were exiled based on the research done by Dar’khan Drathir, which is a far cry from a shadow priest just ocasionally utilising mind control spells.
Of course, without further lore-explanation from blizzard, all we can do is speculate.
Why some Blood Elves and High Elves are so willing to accept the Void Elves, is beyond my understanding though. As if neither remember what happened last time the sunwell was corrupted.
It was not good for any elf from Quel’thalas.
Spriests from Quel’Thalas canonically still use Shadow Orbs as a resource (with the Shadow Ravens glyph). But for gameplay reasons Belfs have to conform to the Void Priest fantasy.
