Curious people’s thoughts on the AE Cap. I feel like in pre-patch (I know, doesnt matter that much but worried it will bleed into SL as the same problem) I can see certain M+ dungeons a problem like the Orb Guardian area of TOS, maggots in Waycrest and doing more than 1 pack in general will likely have more than 5 mobs. Any one have thoughts upon first hand experience with this? Perhaps SL has dungeon designs around this, but I still feel like this could be a problem to where the select few uncapped classes become the most desirable to bring to M+, especially at 15+ keys.
I did a few dungeons on beta this weekend as Subtlety.
Trash pulls went like this: Shuriken Storm > Black Powder > repeat
DPS was abysmal. Even the healers were doing more than me. I did better when using Shuriken > Eviscerate.
Boss fights were much more rewarding as I was able to use CD’s and get a rotation going. I was top dps on most single target fights.
Hi Tavlina, would you be able to share what your Sub rotation is for SL? Am a returning player who use to play Sub in TBC era with hemo. Anything you can share would be greatly appreciated
I don’t like the AoE cap simply because there are classes that are not capped and I feel like it’s going to be a reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllll pain in the butt to farm old content with only an 8 target cap.
Check Ravenholdt website, they have everything explained very well over there.
That is an excellent resource, thank you for sharing. Any other recommendations for where I can learn about Sub specific macros? Would love to simplify things as much as possible for a sub rogue and ideally have buttons that will preform 1-3 actions
Ravenholdt should have plenty of macros available, but ideally you don’t want to bind several abilities to a single button because it can be situationally bad due to a priority-based rotation. If you don’t find what you are looking for at their website, go check out their Discord, which stands by the same name.
Straight up it is dumb.
Keeping it real.
I suspect when it goes live and everyone farming old content sees it in action, there’s going to be an uproar.
I’m curious about UD strat cockroach gates with target caps again.
Lucky for Blizzard, doing dungeons to level is discouraged apparently. Can’t figure out how to do group content other than questing with a friend. Legit reason I hated leveling the first time they revamped it - forcing players out of dungeons and into the terrible quest chain systems. (Seriously - the “Main Quest” system from FFXIV is why I hate that game and will never play it again.)
I will be honest and say that I was mostly winging it. I started my opener with Shadowblades > trinket / racial > Shadowstrike x 2 > Rupture. From there I tried to keep Shadow Dance up as much as possible and kept on eye on Rupture. Once you get SnD ramped up, you don’t have to worry about it.
