With the riding changes coming, and the removal of Artisan Riding, shouldn’t those with Artisan Riding just get auto-bumped up to Master Riding?
It seems kinda unfair that newer characters will get to skip paying 5k for the Artisan Riding skill, but older characters have to pay what amounts to an extra 5k to get Master Riding compared to newer characters.
While this doesn’t affect me personally (my toons are at 310% flying already), I can see it affecting other players, and especially their alts. What’s the harm of just replacing Artisan Riding on anyone who has it with Master Riding?
I leveled a DH on a new servers one weekend, by the time he reached max level, and got basic benthic gear handouts I had 12K gold. 5K gold is small potato’s anymore. I send twice that to alts to get them started.
Is it a shaft? More like a splinter to be honest
If you have artisan riding now, you still need to pay the 5k to get master. Why would the prepatch give it to you for free? The removal of artisan means you keep the last highest one still available that you’ve already purchased, not the next one up.
I got about 6 or so characters with maxed out flying and i’m not really feeling one way or the other on this. Its a nice change going forward and I got what i feel is my moneys worth out of the upgrades.
Because newer players get to skip paying that 5k entirely but older characters who already paid 5k for 280% will have to pay a second 5k to get 310%?
Like I said, it doesn’t affect me personally, but I am sure it does affect others.

The way it should have been done was to remove Artisan completely and the people that had it should have gotten 5k gold in the mail.
