Those who leveled using Threads of Fate

How long did it take you to max level?

7 hours, just running bgs and doing side missions.

Im leveling my first alt through threads of fate, I have done 2 zones “help” quests and am 56 did not do any dungeons yet only side quests and bonus objs. I feel like at 55 it really slowed down. In the beginning a lot of side quests were giving 10-12k xp now I find a lot give less than that as I progress (not all).
I find the xp rewards to be a bit strange and nonsensical. For example some breadcrumbs questlines will give 8k xp per quest while the last quest will give 10k while another questline will give 12k per quest and 14k for the final one.
You would think that the 8-10k quests would be at lower levels and 12-14k at higher level but its actually all mixed up, at lvl 56 I get some quests giving 8k xp.

edit: if im posting might as well give more info

I noticed that bonus objectives are also VERY long, to the point I switched to tank to complete so I could pull more mobs. Also, at one point I had a bonus obj as well as a world quest which were essentially the same, note that credit for one did not give credit for the other, it registered everything for the bonus obj first and once that was done it started giving credit to the WQ. Bonus obj xp was 16k, WQ xp was 8k, with the WQ going 2x as fast as the bonus obj.

With all of this in mind I feel like the last 4 levels I have left to go will take a long time, I am beginning to feel like the linearity of the main quest (not threads of fate) makes everything faster but I could be wrong.

The xp required for each level increases every time so with some quests still giving me 8k xp it aint looking good.

I estimate that the last two zone ‘help’ quests will bring me to 58, which I will then do all 4 lvling dungeons with their quests to get to 59, and the last level will be random quests left undone.

yeh im currently 55 and the bonus objectives literally go up 1% per mob and take forever. i feel i made a massive mistake choosing the threads of fate system, hopefully it skips a lot of the main quest bloat at 60 as well.

Took 4 and half hours on my druid as a tank doing dungeon spam

I have a question as it seems that you must complete all 4 big “help” quests, is this true? If I dont complete all 4 but hit lvl 60 does it matter in any way?

Threads of fate you don’t do any of the big 4 that’s the normal leveling experience and yes you must do all 4 i was at cap at the start of riven but still had to finish the story

honest question, what’s an alt

You misunderstand me, I am talking specifically about the 4 big help quests WITHIN threads of fate. I wouldnt be here if I didnt already finish the main storyline on my main toon. I am talkikg about the % help from each zone which reward weapons and big chunks of xp. It is mentioned at the start of threads of fate that “you will have to help all 4 covenants”

hard to compare; my main was ilvl 135 at start with mythic ny’Alotha gear. my alt was a scrub in heirlooms.

but without dungeon spamming… you are just doing the side-quest and some super slow world objective.

so basicallty thread of fate worth it for tanks and healer.

I only do bonus objectives and the most convenient quests and I’m finding it to be an incredibly enjoyable experience. It’s like questing iwthout the quests, you just do all the stuff in the quest hub area and you’re done the bonus objective typically.

It might not mesh with some people this style as they’re not patient enough or might find it boring, but I got really into each zone. Just vibing out working on my rotations while doing various tasks around the entire area. It helps to be imaginative.

Anyone here know if I can start threads of fate on an alt that’s already lvl 55 / partially through the main campaign already? Or does it have to be before you start the campaign?

You have to be a bit tactical. The % makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Somethings give 1% and something that is just as hard will give 3%. Some stuff gives 1.5% and so you think ‘100 kills, fark that’ when really it is 60 odd. For no apparent reason the bonus objectives gave me 10% each in Ardenweald vs 7% for most other zones(even though they were quicker to finish). At the end of the day, if you want to go anywhere near torghast, you need to finish the 4 zones, so there isn’t a ‘cheat’ way of levelling. I don’t think it was any quicker for me, just more flexible. By the same token, my double gatherer alt will probably stay 51 and just mine herbs/ore. I think it is a ‘good’ system, but if you think you are going to level twice as quickly you can think again.

Its mentioned that you can still do threads of fate if you choose the other option initially

The other way around isnt possible afaik

i think the point of Threads of Fate is not so you level faster exactly, but to be more free in your choices and at the same time you can work on the max level grind, like anima, honor, ashes, conduits, rep etc.

Thanks a bunch!

I was directed to an NPC near Bolivar to pick up the Threads of Fate campaign, but I don’t see the NPC in Oribos. My Alt already started the initial campaign but is only level 52. Anyone have any advice on how to find the ToF quest giver?

I heard the best method is leveling in the campaign through Bastion and then doing threads of fate the rest of the way, but I don’t know how true that is.

I don’t believe that is possible. Because after you finish the maw intro and you’re ported out you have to pick one or the other and it says it cannot be changed.

Alternate Character, as in not your first character haha
