For all the players who dislike or don’t care about the RPG/story/lore elements of the game, what do you want WoW to become?
Is instanced only content the preference or something else?
I’m curious what your thoughts are.

I want click map to teleport!
Also, I want a permanent insta-max level server for everyone. This server would give full system progress on login, including bis gear and legendaries. Then you can just push the fun keys without worrying about leveling or gearing. No transferring off this server.
In this server, I also want to be able to access the auction house, mail, bank, guild bank, barber shop, change racials (not tied to race), change talents, change conduits, everywhere for free.
No more durability damage. All consumables become free.
I would pay 30 a month for this server. I wouldn’t want any changes to the live server if this server existed.
Instances of Lobbycraft is a good name I’ve seen around.
Rpg elements were already removed from wow a long time ago
No reforging, loss of secondaries, no meaningful professions, no profession bonuses (tailoring spellthread, bs socket, jc better gems, alchemy trinkets, engi goggles), no more gems (current 6 gems total where you have to slave to be allowed the right to earn a socket is ridiculous), no gems with multi stats, no more meta gems, level squish to prevent non endgame playstyle, enchants progressively removed from gear (started with head, then shoulders, boots, belt buckles, pants, etc)
I don’t consider wow an rpg anymore, its just a rushed seasonal game with mandatory chores no one wants to do and then have to repeat a few months later when progress is reset
Could you give some examples of what you mean by “rpg elements”. That term can unfortunately mean a lot of different things to different people.
Role players treat you like NPCs.

It’s already what I like. Friday nights do arena with my buddy and that’s it. Don’t care about the story or anything, just having fun with that.
Better balance would be nice, but overall we are happy.
No way I would play circle of life and death lol
Item levels were the worst thing they ever did to this game.
This question here is sort of hard for me, I don’t care for the lore in this game, but if you were to make an interesting character like Denathrius or a great storyline then yes, I will care. But right now I don’t care, so what I’d like to see in this game is possibly something different from raiding and m+ but I can’t think of anything though. Maybe something sort of like Shrines in botw or something completely puzzled base, I’m not talking about the zereth mortis sh**
They’re making good progress in the right direction, but realistically it’ll take like three expacs of good changes to fix the mess they created, lol.
New talent trees are great, but some need revision. Dragon riding and profession changes have serious potential, default ui is much better. World content remains to be seen, solo gear prog remains to be seen.
I honestly have a lot of faith in Blizzard right now and here’s why, first of all they’re adding great quality of life changes like partying up with the Alliance, adding more customization, exiles reach, etc. So yes, I agree with you 100%
Never go on faith, judge what they put out. They still have the capacity to botch everything.
To me, a true RPG provides more progression paths beyond just gearing. WoW has paths like that, but they are sorely neglected compared to gearing-focused activities like raiding & Mythic+. So, things like being able to deep dive into professions and fulfill the fantasy of becoming a master crafter, for example. In other games, there are other systems like housing that people can jump into and become really good at. For example, there is a big community of people in FFXIV that love housing and spend a lot of time experimenting with the system and creating in-depth tutorials. And some of them even take commissions to do advanced builds.
Systems like that offer an alternative form of progression because they allow players to dig into something and become an expert at it. They also help bring in more of the “roleplay” aspect of an RPG by letting people fulfill stories or fantasies that they have about their characters.
I don’t know that I’d go quite this far, but one of the things that most impressed me about FFXIV was their teleport system. each zone had several teleport locations.
it was pretty great.
convenience of travel is huge to me. yes. yes I DO want to skip the unnecessary, redundant and annoying packs of wolves on the road to get to my actual quest objective area.
The irony of that is that the Aetherite system is actually deeply embedded in the RPG story of the game. Whereas in WoW they remove portals that were stable for years without any story interaction at all and a condescending comment from a blue along the lines of “Well it wouldn’t be fair to mages” if they left them.
I was so pleased when I talked to one of the aetheryte NPCs for the first time and they gave a very nice explanation on the basic principles of aether and how it enables teleportation in Eorzea. I like when games explain magical elements in a way that feels realistic and plausible within that particular world vs. just going off the idea that “It’s magic. So anything’s possible!”
Ride, ride, ride, won’t ya let it ride. ![]()
Because I don’t vest myself in the story doesn’t mean it needs to be something else.
