I can only imagine how well Explosive is handled on bosses with adds and DF dungeons seem to have even more enemies that sit still for forever to make Sanguine just a time waster affix (last pack of RLP or the big wyrm in AA where you have to make sure to never kill the little wyrms near it).
I just wanna do if explosives procs on Academy tree boss lil sprouts, or Azure Vault first boss adds. These seems like the main possible offenders that I can think of.
Fortified Bolstering next week is gonna be a blast.
explosives should have friendly fire on the adds…then people might actually kill them

Yep. It’s all awful all the time. Personally, I hate spiteful more than anything. But for someone else, that’s the best week ever.
Did an 18 vault. All the little adds on the first boss spawn explosive. Its crazy.
AV wasn’t difficult enough.
In a 12 pug earlier with a mostly undergeared group. First boss one wipe then three of us finished half of the first boss with the healer and one DPS down. Couple more wipes on the upper ring and three wipes on the 2nd boss and the tank decided they had enough. But the whelp phase was surprisingly more manageable than the big trash pulls.
Think the big change is with the healing work load significantly higher the tank and healer handling most of the explosives is out the window. In SL, good run I was barely touching explosives, this run I ended up doubling the tank and doing 5 times more explosives than the healer.
But my guess is AA, Nok, and Ruby with traditionally larger pulls are going to be a mess. Azure will be a mess because Tyranical and last boss.
This week is ez. Explosive isnt really a mechanic if dps can help. Sanguine is easy with good knockbacks or grips
Usually, if DPS is handling the explosives you’re having a bad run. Not they don’t need to help on big waves, but if they’re spending GCD’s and interrupting their rotations and big burst windows to chase down explosives it’s not a good thing.
What a mess. I’m only doing +12 to +13 on my Preservation Evoker, and it is miserable. I would say some sort of change is incoming. Basically, pugs are not possible with the explosive mechanic. I tried to handle as many as possible, but I don’t have the GCD’s to do it. Nok was a nightmare with such large packs. My money is on Bliz making it so only X can spawn at a time. If not I’ll just drop to +6 - +7 and see if I can at least fill my vault with something.

Dps are supposed to handle explosive. It’s one of the few dps affixes next to bursting. The fact that people still refuse to do even the slightest bit to help the team rather than pad their numbers just tells you how bad the state of the dps playerbase is.
DPS should not be focusing on explosives. That’s a huge DPS loss where it actually matters. Tank and healer should be getting most of them unless theres too many up at once.
