I’ve watched some of these boring steamers and I can’t stand them for more than 5 minutes. Maybe some other people like them. Fine. None of this explains why Blizzard should use them to actually make an announcement about one of their products. That should only be done through their own forums first. Never through some randos on twitch, youtube, or anywhere else. They aren’t Blizzard employees.

If you don’t have time you really maybe shouldn’t play it.
Go for it. You are making the assumption they made classic to attract new/ returning players. They aren’t going to adjust this game.

People like the Method streamers are the minority. Most are, at best, above-average players who gained an audience through their personality, or by being in the right place at the right time. They don’t bring anything to the table except maybe their ego.

I normally hear by word of mouth or maybe youtube. Perhaps I’m not in twitches demographic but never had the time to watch others game when I’d rather game myself.

Because they are creating content that people watch. It’s not too hard to understand. Just because you (and I) hate it, doesn’t make it a false thing.
I’m sorry but can you tell me what game are streamers playing?. There are streamers who have been playing consistently since vanilla, they are also paying customers who have been loyal for 14 years.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using twitch as a platform but it should be used as ONE of the tools to promote, not the main one. I’m not clicking some youtube video with a picture of the person making their version of the gootecks pogchamp face with a title like “SHARDING IN WOW?”
If others want to, that’s fine. Don’t make that the main avenue for it though. Put the stuff right here on the handy website you happen to have for the game. That’s what it’s for.

I agree on all points. I’m in my 40s and have worked FT and have a family and early summer to everything besides late August works far better for me. The only good point about this, to me, is that it is a bad time for kids in school (high school, and college, or in general). Less of them generally means a much better community and experience for adults.
As for the streamer thing. I will never watch a stream. I will burn in the fiery depths of hell before I watch a video of someone else playing a video game. I don’t understand the appeal. Its like skinny pants. I don’t care if all the kids are dressing like Peter Pan and wearing tights. I wear normal pants like a normal adult person. My little kids watch videos of other people play video games. They also pooped their pants short years ago. I have to constantly remind them not to pick their noses or scratch their crotches when talking to people. I don’t emulate children. Thats not a good argument. I think most people from my generation forced to share an Atari or NES on the limited time you were allowed to play it on your house’s one TV stand with me.
I play video games. i don’t watch them. I’ve never once felt the urge to watch someone play a video game, yet I constantly have the urge to play video games.

if you need to go on twitchtv for content… I feel bad for you. only person good to hear anything from is SWIFTY and other streamers playing P servers and constantly talking about vanilla… not the sell outs like towliee.
2nd for you to even mention timing in this is ridiculous due to blizzcon board specifically saying, “A CLASSIC SUMMER”, which indicates a season and not a specific date.
lastly, Beta invitations should have been for people that signed up for beta opt-ins from the moment the information was released. This will indicate the player mass of interest whether be the accounts are active or non-active. That’s how you win people back. Not timing or Twitch biased non content publishers.
