I’ve been playing since 04’ and will keep playing regardless of what others say. I still have fun and feel like I get my money’s worth.
In the last 14 years, this same type of anti-Blizzard rhetoric has reared it’s ugly head and then played itself out multiple times.
Is everything perfect? No. Are things fixable? Absolutely, but even though I play daily, WoW isn’t so important to me that I act like a whiny kid who didn’t get the toy they wanted.
A lot of you need to just grow up or move on. The sky isn’t falling.
I’m enjoying BfA, and in a selfish kind of way, I’m glad other people arent. Last time people hated this much on an expansion, Blizz put in extra effort for the next expansion and we got Legion, one of the best expansions.
Agreed. People have been unhappy in some form or another with every expansion and this is no different. Even the doomsayers who claim Activision ruined blizzard are wrong–they still churn out the best games (Legion) and cinematics (Old Soldier).
…As an attempt to “Win Back the Crowd” that they hemorrhaged in the previous expansion (Warlords). And yes, hemorrhaged IS the most accurate word to describe the sub loss in Warlords. Legion was good because it NEEDED to be restore faith in the World of Warcraft brand. Will the next expansion be better than BfA? I’d give in a 54% chance (rounding to the nearest whole Percentage), most of that being using Legion as a precedent.
Why is the current version of the Azerite system set to be scrapped entirely in 8.2? Because it needs to be (Blizzard can’t fix it to Fan Standards, because it was fundamentally flawed to begin with, and can’t lean on us enough to accept it) as far as Acti-Blizz is concerned.
2018 was not a good year for Acti-Blizz. BLOPs 4 broke current console records, but fell short (accounting for inflation) of Franchise Records. BfA has been even more poorly received than the above mentioned Warlords, undoing much of the good that Legion did in half the time it took Warlords. Do I need to mention Diablo: Immortal and the subsequent declaration of the shift in direction Blizzard was taking? Do I need to remind people of the recent HotS Outrage? Blizzard did a LOT wrong in 2018 and they’re probably gonna answer for it in 2019.
As an aside note, Ion came off a little bit scared to me in the last Q&A.
So are you going to be thinking back fondly on BfA 3 expansions down the line? Are your guildies and friends, both the ones still playing and the ones who have silently stopped logging in, going to be reliving fond memories of this expansion?
You’ve been playing since 2004, and you believe the things you’re saying? Yeah, there’s negativity, but this is a growing anger and hostility.
I have also been playing since Vanilla Beta, but this malcontent has moved from internet forums to my real life friends (Who honestly don’t even come onto the Blizzard forums). We were disappointed by mechanical changes introduced in Cata, and these disappoints just keep coming expansion after expansion. The game does not even resemble the game we all grew up with.
Truthfully, it’s sad to see people be on a team. It’s sad when people won’t be honest with themselves about the state of both this company and this game. My friends and I have been playing Blizzard games since the mid/late 1990s. It’s pretty obvious that this company no longer has the capacity to make the incredible games of their past.
OP: You’re simply not being honest or objective about this situation and it does help the player or Blizzard to lie about the situation.
If people think WoW is so bad, they should go play one of the many Korean mmos. There are so many and there is a reason for it, they all fail but stay on by a thread for a small core that just refuse to accept that Korean mmos are bad. I came back to WoW after going thru 5 different Korean mmos and it just feels better in WoW and a lot less frustrating.
Ok, but why exactly would you compare WoW to a bunch of different games that are really bad? Aren’t you proving the point that the game isn’t very good?
If it’s so good, why not compare it to a game that’s considered to be an amazing game. Why not compare it to the past iterations of itself like Vanilla/BC/Wrath?

“gamers” or those who identify as that have been vocal on the internet, stamping their feet when their favorite toy doesn’t toy the way they want it to
as cringey as i think T and E are, they touched upon it pretty well; there’s a lot of anticooperate sentiment within gaming communities and these people with nothing better to do than complain about video games are pretty vocal.

Or they could just say you’re parroting the “nothing is wrong with the game, people who complain complain because they like to complain” pro-blizz meme we see all the time on the forum.
