New threads should be approved by a moderator before they are added to the official WoW forums. That way, inflammatory posts and troll posts that survive when the mods aren’t around will not make it onto the forums.
I don’t think this should apply to comments to existing threads, though, or certain forum sections like the tech support forum.
Additionally, new threads that are similar to existing threads wouldn’t spam the forums anymore, as the mod would see that the thread is just like others they’ve approved and either reject the post or plop it as a comment into the existing thread.
Dear OP,
Why do you care what others post? If it is something you dislike/don’t agree with/find offensive/etc., then scroll on by. No one forces anyone to read what others have written.
I believe people spend too much time and energy worrying/stressing/fretting about what others write when all the person needs to do is to scroll on by.
I would just get mad if it wasn’t approved in a timely manner. I assume since moderation doesn’t happen in a timely manner, neither would something like this. I think Clark made a post a few days ago saying this is what they do in China. I don’t know how well that works for them.
yea I honestly don’t know if our much loved gnome OP is serious or not, but I wouldn’t want to participate in a forum where only company approved comments get through.
I’m torn. If I flag it, it helps you get your wish where a moderator looks at this thread and approves/disapproves it. But it goes against my nature to flag any of your stuff because you’re one of my favourite Gnomes.
That’s reasonable, I think that waiting for all comments would be really annoying. I’m mainly thinking that threads (and threads only) would need approval before going live. Anyone can comment and have it show up immediately, same as now. I think it would really hamper discussions if people had to wait on replies to be approved.
