Ya this, rating inflation worked similarly to rating decay to begin with, had to keep qing to maintain your rank plus motivates people to see some big number
Read above
Also mmr got hit so hard qing basically punishes you the same amount if not more than rating decay would
Issue is nothing rating decay is supposed to fix, the system in place has been fine it’s just everyone is now 300 mmr lower than their CR ofc there is no value in qing you could only possibly go down
If rating decayed at a rate of 10 points per week for example, I’d still be higher rated not queing than queing right now, that’s how awful it is lmfao
Just cut out the reason people are buying so many boosts (gear disparity). Reduce the supply/demand and it’s whatever
Yes, I’ve seem several teams dropping their CR to under 15xx and having 1 of them above 2400 so they could farm Glad wins around 1600-1900 MMR. It’s stupid…
I guess they just enjoy making people miserable lol. Only reason I can fathom. WoW gold is worthless, even for tokens for blizzard currency. That means you have to buy blizzard store currency… yuck
When I made my initial Duelist push, I remember thinking “this is way to sweaty for low cr”. That was months ago. I can only imagine how much harder low cr games are now since I think all the casuals have straight up quit the game.
2-5 points again isn’t going to help, when like I said even if it was 10 points rating decay it would still have been more valuable to sit your pre 9.0.5 rating than queing up
Inflation does the job fine, has the same purpose as rating decay (your rating will get overpassed easily if you’re not actively qing).
Do you think a sizeable amount of decay would incentivize people to queue more to hold their rating or do more harm by discouraging them from pushing early-mid season? I’m curious if it would either increase or decrease play overall.
I mean maybe, but again the system in place was never flawed. It was working fine, ques were very active until 9.0.5 dropped. The cause is obvious, no need to try to fix what wasn’t broken.
depends on whether they are doing it themselves instead of through a service that places them but takes half or more of the revenue
depends on whether they are doing it themselves (and literally pugging other team members if needed) or have to split with other boosters for 3s or rated bg’s
depends whether they are doing pilots or self plays for real money or doing it for gold or any combo thereof
depends on whether they got hooked up with the ‘whales’ of boosting (i.e. rich guys that pay outlandish amounts for R1 players to basically be their servants til they get everything they want but they pay fairly well)
depends on whether they are boosting from another country where nobody gets paid much compared to the USA (this is EXTREMELY common)
depends on whether they are able to stack constant carries with not much downtime and are able to get them done very quickly (a lot of boosters are honestly somewhat mediocre when compared to boosters as a whole)
and depends on whether they aren’t very careful and basically get blacklisted for getting their customers banned and/or their own accounts
in the end it is all relative, and you’d have to state a specific threshold of income per month or something similar to qualify as ‘real money’ to you
can confirm that a ton of them do it for garbage wages overall in the USA context but a lot of them don’t make crap in RL
Another question. I’ve stopped queuing the past two weeks. (Irl issues so My hpal friend and I simply can’t find a dps to play with at 2300 cr on sundays)
This should not impact cr gains right? I personally haven’t noticed any increase in cr gains since 9.0.5 launched.
