This Patch Is Perfect

In the fact that in perfectly described what WoW has become: a time-gated loot piñata with no imagination. I was sitting here on my alt farming these world rares/bosses and it suddenly hit me that I’m pretty much wasting my time here. It reminded me of the true end-game in BFA which is sitting there farming rare spawns for mounts and pets. Heck, even the rares themselves aren’t special, they’re recycled models of bosses we’ve faced before, down to the names even.

It also seems to me like there are almost zero special rewards for this event other than a pet. Luckily for me I haven’t pre-purchased SL because this prepatch is reminding me of all the waiting game content that I’ve hated all expansion.

Obviously you’re being sarcastic, but what do you think the endgame should be? It has been mythic+, raids, and arena for two expansions. What do you think it should be?

It unlocks a new set of prestige levels (60-100) but you can only do 25% of each level per week.

im sorry you are dealing with these noob new player white knights. but you are right. this pre patch has been garbage and im scared of the expansion.

Huh? Is that really your answer?

No but Blizzard is a small indie company and I’m trying to figure out ways to make them a few more bucks.

Answer the question I asked op above.

To give you a serious answer, I’m personally happy with WoW endgame content. I’d rather have weird grinds and endless stuff to do than a WoD scenario where you’re scrambling to figure out what actually matters.

it does seem like wow is setting a lower standard, which means a lower dev cost, for their content these days

more time seems to be spent on redonk convoluted layered grind systems, that typically have no ending anymore, than actual new content

That should be a tittle!

You and me had the same realization OP. I ended up just farming old raids for a little while later on. Worked out okay I think. Definitely accomplished more doing that than I was waiting for rares. lol

No reason this pre patch couldn’t be prepping us to enter the maw
What are you gonna do when SL launches?
Just jump down in some hole? Click a portal?
This event doesn’t AT ALL seem connected to SL

All time gating for lack of content there will be… S-T-R-E-T-C-H to the max. Each to there own if happy to play SL I’m happy for them. But not taking the crap that Blizzard are now hand feeding us.

That’s exactly what retail WoW has become. Most people who play competitively cannot acknowledge this because doing so destroy their worlds. WoW is likely all many of them have. It’s sad but reality ain’t pretty.

At least there’s no time gating in this pre-patch for peeps who don’t need the loot on the rares.

I’ve been playing on the beta for months. It’s been an absolute blast for me. To each their own, I’ll be having fun in Shadowlands while people complain about a meaningless pre-launch event in which people have done every expansion in history with the exception of Legion’s pre-patch event.

The difference in Legion’s pre-patch is that people complained when Blizzard nerfed the amount of XP you received from doing them. I remember the mass threads calling it the worst pre-patch because of this. Blizzard finally caved in and reverted it. People mainly liked the fast XP, same for the year ago Korrak’s revenge and the actual events were just a major afterthought, a means to an end.

The original Scourge invasion was super fun. However, it was also super annoying after awhile. Losing total control of your ability to do any other content, to quest, to do anything was controlled by others who could and would majorly use it to troll and disrupt others. The complaints about that patch were bigger than this one.

Warlords of Draenor’s pre-patch was a 20 minute questline… that was it. It was awful.

What was MoP’s notable event? A 3 minute Scenario? Yawn.

Most of all the pre-patch and pre-launch events have always been pretty lukewarm… at least for me and judging by the same repetitive threads being started on here every single pre-patch, not much has changed.

It’s the perfect prepatch event for anyone hoping to do some cleaning or homework between occasionally playing WoW every 20 min for 40 seconds

I might could take this seriously except that if Blizzard nerfed the exp gains in Legion’s pre-patch, I never noticed.

And it’s pretty much a moot point anyway since you can now level a toon in a day.

However, I am curious what it is you find fun about SL. So far, I’ve only read bad things about it and my experience in BfA since I returned from Legion has just been boring.

It didn’t take me long to realize at all that the content version of prepatch had nothing to offer. I looked for any prepatch exclusivity realized it was the only pet. The catch up gear is pvp gear which is easier to farm that way for us pvpers. Realized the content was dailies and rare hunting for “story” that was about it.

So as soon as i finished the last quest and unlocked dailies i was like… yeah i’m done up until launch day. Haven’t even killed a single rare cause like whats the point? Man I was so excited too cause i thought there would be scourge everywhere and you would want to help clear out areas around azeroth for rewards and feel like a champion at the same time.

Sucks to say the only dailies is one world boss in the plaguelands and small grinds in icecrown. Kinda of forget the scourge even exists outside of icecrown still. Big bummer. The more I experience shadowland related things the more it solidifies my choice that shadowlands will be the last expansion i buy.
