Prepatch 11.0 back in July 2024 was much worse, there were gamebreaking bugs depending on whether you were affected. For example, guild bank bug victims have still never been made whole as far as I know - I don’t know a single guild bank victim who got restored/made whole as of the time of this post (March 2025)
I would like to add:
-Can’t pick up packages when I drive over them, can’t get to 10 job streak
-Loot lag literally 6-7 seconds, have to loot over and over until one them takes
-Lag so bad in delves it killed a Tier 11 no deaths because my character was spinning
I would argue that there were a couple of times in the past where it was far worse than this, but it’s still not a good look for Blizzard. There’s not really a good excuse for it.
you would think they would fix stuff instead of focusing on NEW stuff coming out later…like no one cares about stuff coming if no one can play the game…if people cant play the game they would be around for the future content that no one has asked for yet
You have to focus on the next thing. Always. Otherwise you end up with year long droughts. That is what kills games.
Like, I want my games to work correctly, but at the end of the day what KILLS games is lack of content, not temporary bugs.
You say no one cares, but that is not even remotely true. Remember this game, and most online games are Seasonal now. No new season, no players. Everyone leaves and doesn’t come back. Even if the game is pristine.
TBH, companies like Blizzard are really tech companies. There shouldn’t really be “server lag” on a regular basis. It’s either something in their coding, a DdOS attack, or something else. The way servers are split up now and cores assigned to specific groups of data, it’s not a server issue.
You could argue they should strictly limit the # of people on a server to make it more stable, but that would just make people mad too. It’s a lose-lose for Blizz.
I play Sargeras specifically because it’s a mid-to-large size server instead of a mega server like A52 because this always happens with new patches and seasons on the mega servers.
Like I said though it really shouldn’t. Yea there are various loads a server can and can’t handle, but it’s like not A-52 is a car sized server, and yours is like a dishwasher size, and Moonguard is a toaster size. They can allocate resources where needed, when needed, and I’m sure it’s semi or fully automated even. They don’t just “run out” of space or resources. This game makes literally billions of dollars a year. This should not be happening.
Yeah probably. That said, it’s an obvious trend that doesn’t seem to be changing. The only things players can do is ask for it to change and swap to a server where it’s not a problem, or ask for it to change and do nothing in the meantime and deal w/ the server.
I’d like to speak to this one, specifically. I made a simple reputation bar in Weakauras, and the Renown display text is showing weird things after the patch. Specifically, I have “%1.standing” to show what level renown for the watched faction, and it’s showing “Renown %d22” instead. The “22” is fine since it’s the renown level, but the “%d” is the issue. I thought it was just how mine was written, but I’ve tried numerous trackers and they all do the same thing.

Technically, the WA still works, but it would be nice if it didn’t have the extras.
