For the first 2 months of Classic, horde and alliance were levelling alongside eachother on my server, even cooperating sometimes on taking down elites but usually just leaving eachother alone. The world seemed very much alive and it was a friendly atmosphere.
Now my friends have abandoned me, left the game and me to fend for myself. Ganksquads roaming the countryside so you can’t even quest anymore. Most people who aren’t out pillaging are hiding in cities or running dungeons/raids ad nauseum. I know its fun for people but do you think P3 is gonna allow us to quest again, or farm without needing a small army for protection?
I dont remember a time where you couldnt even quest in Vanilla, maybe there would be a raid going down on your questhub but you could always move to another, now its like every zone is on fire and its hard to make gold for my epic.
No man I like WPVP but its nice to go node-farming/fishing/questing for gold sometimes too… sometimes you just like to roll solo, you know?
Only now you can’t… and I’m a little worried that this isn’t gonna change come P3… I’m worried some of these things are over now… Unless you get real lucky and hit your nodes/quests early in the morning when nobody is camping them, there’s parts of the game you can’t really do anymore, and it was never this way in Vanilla… this is like an experiment gone wrong lol… it’s still cool though and I’m happy some people are still having fun but just the scope of activities now is narrower than it used to be…
The market will slow somewhat because factions will be fighting each other over resources, or just because you’re there. This is exactly how it was in Vanilla before flying made it easy to avoid WPvP by just going “up”.
I agree on my server in vanilla (warsong a high pop server) alliance and horde, even way after honor was released, used to farm in Tyrs hand in relative peace. There was mutual respect. It is like the Wild West out there now
It’s nothing like vanilla…Servers are way to big of populations and now many of the pvp servers are more like pve servers because horde is making alliance quit in droves like on the realm flamelash…but people will continue to say this is normal and pvp happens lol…delusional…Pretty soon horde on classic will have no one to pvp against. Flamelash realm is screwed.
I don’t think P3 is going to fix this at all… the game is out of balance, every realm will ultimately end up dominated by one faction while the opposite faction will leave cuz they can’t play…
The only realistic solution to fix this - open new servers capped at Vanilla population levels, and allow transfers over to them while maintaining equal faction proportions… That way people don’t need to reroll, they can play their current character in the world as it was originally intended… I don’t think they’re going to do that though…
I remember Vanilla just like what is happening now. When honor was released, it was constant war until the Warsong Gulch dropped. However, due to the pop sizes of the new servers it wasn’t as saturated.
I think the problem with responses like this is that it completely overlooks the fact that there’s an abnormal amount of “pvp” to yesteryear, to the point you can never do anything and be left alone, ever. Some people who typically liked pvp servers don’t now, because it absolutely is different.
