Yeah I agree. I’d actually use the netherdrake if we had more skin tone options for it and it actually got more customizations.
Yes it is. We got the same one back in TBC. It’s called onyx netherdrake.
Not quite?
It is though.
Other than simply being a clearer, more high definition version (as the grotto netherwing drake is intended to be), it is quite clearly the onyx coloration cleaned up and better presented.
Netherdrake? More like Neverdrake, amirite?
No. More horns.
…Which is a cleaned up, better presented option of the Grotto Netherwing Drake as intended because those are options capable of being utilized. We’re talking skin tone here. Not added options which were brought in to be utilized under the dragon riding format.
Quite literally, all we’re discussing is skin tone. Every option on that netherwing drake is available to be used other than the cheek horns, which we have the option of fins instead, which is likely an error, just like the missing skin tones are which were in the game already and then brought back out and tied to the centaur rep for whatever reason.
Edit: I lied. The spiked jaw is in the game. It’s just under inscription. Same with chin tendrils.
They implemented most of the new animations, what I was talking about though was how some of the promotional pictures showed customization options that were never added to the game such as a scarred female Tauren face and an Orc with a ponytail hairstyle that has two braids as part of it.
Also several playable race icons in character creation notably use customization options that were never added as well, with two of the most notable examples being the male Human icon using a mustache and hairstyle not present in the game and the male Night Elf icon that has a beard that doesn’t exist.
The weird thing is that it looks like the icons were made using the actual character models and the caster idles image also uses actual character models, so I don’t know why these customization options were never even added to the files of the game. They must have lost some of the files or something.
It’d be nice to have that other skin, but I still love my purple one!
If this option isn’t available now it perhaps could be added later.
The issue is it was available. And then it was removed. It was in the menu as a dropdown choice and had the source being Centaur Rep. It should just be added back and thrown on Dragonriding Races as a chance to drop considering we can’t seem to think of somewhere meaningful to put it – or it could have been brought back with the Outland cup. The fact it wasn’t is odd considering Netherwing Drakes come from Outland.
This is what gets me. It was right there. I previewed it. And then it was just gone.
I was most excited for this model and it turned out to be extremely underwhelming. I actually prefer the BC ones, hah.
Yeah, especially since the wings are pretty unique.
I honestly can’t wait until I can use those ones for dynamic flying.
But I still want to those colorations.
So here’s an interesting update…
The Netherdrake is no longer sitting on the edge of the Rostrum.
Either it flies around… or Blizz removed it.
Would have been the perfect time to add them as rewards for Outland cup.
Now that it’s gone until next year, /shrug.
It’d have to be from something Outland or Netherwing-related, otherwise it’s just out of place as a reward.
I’m still waiting for the recolor of the cheetah (that kind of looks like a snow leopard) to be added to the game. And I get it, we may never seen these.
I think the grotto drake should have different colors from the original nether drakes, to keep the prestige of the old ones.
I saw an onyx grotto netherdrake by the racing people in stormwind trade district. Maybe he takes the mage tower back and forth lol.
