This Loot System is Awful

Ok. I think fighting a boss with multiple battle rezzes and more flexible composition is easier than trying to build an M+ team.

I’ll concede that logistically, 20 man is harder than 5 man, but I never said anything about loot capping at +10.

The composition isn’t really flexible, plenty of examples of bosses requiring certain classes to deal with mechanics better. It isn’t really flexible at high level m+ either. Neither are good design, but in a raid you’re more likely to have at least 1 of some class thats needed.

Having never even sniffed at Mythic raid content this xpac, you’re not qualified to make statements saying M+ is harder than Mythic bosses.

So I skip a couple of expansions and my opinion becomes moot, huh?

Great ad hominem.

Yes it does. Because M+ only became a concept last expansion.

I’ve done both. End game raiding and M+, even in different expansions. I’ve been playing this game since 2004, I’ve done it all at one point or another.

But I understand being unable to counter my argument makes you want to attack my WoW resume.

I have to say that by now in legion I had gotten lucky enough to get BIS legos on multiple characters…In BFA i am still after 1 BIS azerite piece…

Because heroic is an easy loot pinata that’s even easier then an M10

What argument have you posed? None of your points are coherent and you’re barely doing content that counts.

At best on par.

Id argue conclave and on is harder than a +10 except for maybe 1 or 2 affix weeks.

Mythic+ is also:

Way easier to organize only needing 5 people.

Much better loot to player ratio.

Has no lockout.

Can give mythic quality 415 azerite every few weeks (something heroic cannot).

Gives a guaranteed 410 item every week.

Gives loot even if you fail timer both for the dungeon and the weekly item and residium.

It is way more efficient for gearing than raiding could ever hope for.

I think the system would be improved if the weekly chest only awarded loot based on your highest TIMED run for the week.

Spending 2 hours and 200 wipes to do a +10 is not the same thing as timing one and it’s stupid that they reward identical loot.

Should the reward be based on personal execution or logistical difficulty, in your opinion?

Both have a part, more favoring execution.

BUT…

Personal execution at the same time x20 is more challenging than personal execution at the same time x5.

I think that’s debatable. If one person dies in a 20 man raid, your raid is at 95% efficiency. If one man dies in a 5 man, assuming it’s not the tank or healer, you’re operating at 80% efficiency. Ball-parking, of course, role and job matter f course.

And if you need 20 people to handle a mechanic instead of 5 the likelihood of it getting messed up is significantly greater.

If you wipe 100 times to a boss during a 5 man run everyone calls you garbage. If you wipe 100 times to a mid-upper mythic boss its called progression.

If you’re pushing keys to your limit, you’ll be failing just as much. If you dunk every key you try, you’re not pushing yourself.

The likelihood is greater, but the impact is smaller. I think it evens out

I mean, it’s not really. Since you can also instantly rez except during bosses. Trash in M+ in the quantity that you need to pull to make the timer at higher key levels is substantially harder than most of the bosses, even on Tyrannical.

How is the impact smaller? Almost anything in an M+ is still doable even with one DPS dead. If one person dies on a boss like G’huun or Jaina you’re done.

I could point out that losing a dps on the first platform of siege is a wipe. Losing dps on the last boss of AD could also be a wipe, or if you’re exceedingly lucky, just a 6 minute fight that costs you the timer. If you lose 1/3 if your dps, you’re pretty mich done for.

Of course, I’m talking about on average, not cherry picked, high-end fights. Jaina is a beast (so I’ve heard) but I’ve also pugged mythic champs with 18 people. On average, you can use your battle rezzes and kill a boss even losing a dps or three. In m+, on average, you can complete a boss fight losing a man, but the impact to the timer (adding upwards of a minute in tyrannical weeks) is the actual issue.

Mythic plus is basically a 30-40 minute boss fight.
