An average of 100 attempts going down to an average of 16 attempts becomes increasingly significant with every alt you have to run it with. A raid that takes 30 minutes? 100 attempts is 50 hours. 16 attempts is 8 hours. That’s nearly two days of farming time saved.
Helpful numbers to track the grind.
droprate | attempts for coin-toss (50% chance) | attempts for 90% chance
10% | 7 | 22
5% | 13 | 44
1% | 69 | 230
0.5% | 138 | 459
0.1% | 693 | 2301
Guess I’ll go back to farming for Midnight again.
Im sorry but vanilla was harder to farm everything than it is now. With all the mana use and resting every 4th cast… yeah. WoW has always had an emphasis on farming and it used to take months to get what you wanted; unless u got super lucky.
That’s not how drop rates work.
Every time you do the raid, you have a 94% chance (during this event) to not get the item you want. You can do that raid 60+ times a week if you have enough characters and never get the item you want.
So saying, “On average you’ll do fewer runs,” doesn’t really work.
Maybe if the chance doubled each time you failed the run during the event, that would be different. Then you’d be guaranteed to get the item eventually, and you’d do fewer runs because of the increased chance every time you missed out. But unfortunately the game doesn’t work that way.
I’m so glad I don’t care about mount count and only go after those I’d actually use.
On the contrary, you don’t seem to know how how statistics work.
Flip a coin once. It’s 50% heads. Now flip it ten times in a row. The chance of getting heads at least once is much higher than 50%.
That is, again, not how drop rates function.
There is no ‘your chance of getting the item increases the more runs you do’ Blizzard debunked this over a decade ago.
Every time you run, say ICC for Invincible, you will have a 99% chance not to get the mount. When this buff goes into effect, you will have a 94% chance not to get the mount, and it will always be 94% until the event ends, and then it goes back to 99%
Coming again next month.
If you still have the Eye of Sulfuras you can get the legendary, you don’t have to be able to equip to unlock the appearance anymore. I got the eye drop today on my hunter and bought the hammer from AH and combined it to get the appearance.
The piss poor writing of cringe cinematics that look worse than 2008 fan made machinima is absolutely pathetic.
Where we are now of wow is just horrible. Telling my friends who are considering returning to watch the newest cinematic and compare to the past.
This game is not wow. Lol. Fans have made more energetic and epic fights compared to an official blizzard of today. Wows cooked. Liking it at this point shows a standard so low its like watching a homeless man eat dog crap.
Time to jump ship…was hoping it would get better, its not getting better. Until theres a major shift in the industry its just gonna be this.
This has nothing to do with the price of rice in china…
Got Onyxian drake super early this AM before it kicked in. Only took a decade+. One less raid to farm now
