Oh is that right? I’ll have to check later when I feel like logging both my accounts lol
To be fair you do play havoc
Yep only played retail since MoP and tanked first time a weak or so ago and found it was way too stressful for me to continue playing a tank in groups.
Too many little things can go wrong and people tend to have high expectations for the tank which is a lot of pressure to not mess up.
He didn’t edit it much from what I saw first. Of course, I could have missed the earlier edits. EDITS EDITS EDITS
Am I the only person who seems to have generally positive / neutral experiences in mythic plus? I mostly tank or dps on my warrior and while i dont do any high dungeons, only barely scratching the +10s, most dungeons are relatively stress free with maybe a comment here or there that could be seen as toxic. Most of the time people seem to be trying to just…do a dungeon.
But then i come to the forums and its oh man every dungeon has 300 guys telling you to kys because you missed a stun on an animated droplet in sots and that totally wiped us. It feels so…dissonant.
-How many mythic+ dungeons do you think are run a week?
-How many complaints do you see on the forums?
-Not everyone is going to come here so even being overly generous and saying 10 times the number of complaints on the forums is the actual number that’s still going to be an incredibly small percentage of bad experiences. Even 1000 times the # of forum complaints about M+ isn’t even 25% of all M+ dungeons.
I think the majority of M+ pug experiences are fine but you won’t often see people coming here saying “hey guys, my M+ went fine” it’s only when something goes awry
Nah, you not alone.
My M+ pug experiences are also mostly neutral-to-positive. These forums will naturally attract more negative stories, since people obviously don’t complain about good/smooth runs.
Lately I just do my one weekly 15 and that’s it, I prefer to spend most of my time PvPing (just because I find that more fun).
So once my Druid, Prot Warrior, and Prot Pally get their weekly 15 done, I don’t see the point in tanking for anymore pugs that week
Yeah they really do bring out the worst in people. Just this last couple of months we’ve lost a bunch of people due to m+ attitude. The second something goes wrong people are quick to throw the blame around.
I wish m+ was left for challenge mode alone with transmogs and things like that. I’m not saying this doesn’t happen in raids because well, people are people, but it’s a bit different.
Oh god, this person patting themselves on the back again with their false modesty.
Yes, yes, you have a high IO, but you also never log off of the game. There is always a price.
I leveled my Pally from 1 to 90 as a tank and loved it! Got into the MoP raid and immediately encountered abuse. I’ve never tanked since.
I doubt that very much. Players were toxic long before Mythic+. All mythic+ has done is increase the skill ceiling for people who enjoy it.
Your answer is to dumb down the game so there’s no pressure to succeed because the content is so easy. Lol no. I’d rather take the risk of great reward than a guaranteed turd sandwich.
He wasn’t your true Naruto-kun!
Tank shortage will be getting far worse in Shadowlands with covenants being locked.
I was planning on playing holy/prot pally but if I play 9.0 (Doubtful now tbh) I will likely have to take the seasons ability because its broken op in raid which means no divine tol which was half the reason I wanted to tank. So I then just wouldn’t bother tanking.
Having multi specs harder to play or play well or fully enjoy will make people stick to a main spec even more than they already do.
This means less tanks for m+
show incoming.
that and the fact that it seems to be effective at a role such as tanking you have to side with a certain covenant. who the hell thinks thats a good idea is beyond me. id rather farm out 3 sets of azerite
There are actually too many tanks in the game, try finding a raiding spot in a guild as a tank.
Title should be “This is why there are so few PUG tanks”
Join a guild, make friends in the guild, and run with those people only. Problem solved.
Raider IO and ilvl is pointless to judge someone on because carries exist. People could have high ilvl and high io and still be bad.
No, it’s because end-game guilds only need 2 full time tanks and maybe 1-2 flex tanks to cover for an absence or off-day key runs, compared to needing 15+ DPS and 5+ healers etc
getting in a guild as a tank and keeping your spot is difficult. Want a break? Nope, insta replacement. So GL getting back into the game mid or late expansion.

Dumb game by removing an artificial timer that you still have to complete the dungeon, except now no ones restricted or feeling rushed by a stupid taz-zer timer.
Ye ok m8. Keep living in that elitist delusional world of yours.
If you had to walk along a tight rope you would walk slowly to make it safer right? You wouldn’t run across because that would he more risky right? You drive a car in a car pack slower than on the roads no avoid mistakes.
Same deal. The keys would be infinatly easier with no timer.
entertaining read, i dont do mythics so its all new to me but did do normals and heroics back when they were fun, some things dont change do they. im not sure why but group play in this game is so abysmal, people are either quiet or shockingly rude.
edit: just noticed some people talking about a timer in mythics… lol i can tell you THATS just gonna make the abysmal group experience even worse. and now i have another reason to never do mythics, glad i read this thread.
