EDIT: so of course a few weeks into the expansion and it’s all a lot more clear. The short answer is that for characters new to the Dragon Isles, there are a few professions’ crafting benches in Wingrest Embassy, and a few more at the Ruby Lifeshrine…
… BUT they are ALL available in Valdrakken. So get your dragonriding on and make the journey to Valdrakken (possibly with a few crash landings along the way).
Here’s an article that has a nice illustration of where all the crafting benches in Valdrakken are located around the Artisan’s Market: https://gamerant.com/wow-dragonflight-crafing-orders-guide/

- OK, I don’t actually KNOW where they all are, and I hope others will helpfully fill in the blanks. I’m really looking for the Leatherworking table, which someone said was obvious because it has a big knife, but I’ve been all around the circle of the Ruby Lifeshrine and I can’t find it.
Ruby Lifeshrine, starting at the innkeeper at half past the o’clock of the circle and going clockwise:
9 o’clock on the right, Alchemist’s Lab Bench is here. Also there’s an Enchanting trainer, is the enchanting bench here? There’s something called Thomas’s Crafting Table here; since Thomas Bright is here stanning for the Artisan’s Consortium I thought maybe I could use his table as a universal table, but alas my Leatherworking doesn’t recognize it as a crafting table.
9 o’clock on the left, Blacksmithing & Engineering Supplies, forge and anvil, are the blacksmithing and engineering benches here?
12 o’clock, Tailor’s Work Table and Tailoring trainer.
I can’t figure out how to get out of this round level of the Ruby Earthshrine other than hearth or jump off the edge. Wait, I can’t hearth because I set my hearthstone here when the dragon flew me in, doh! I’m going to go jump off the edge, I hope y’all can post what you’ve learned for everyone’s benefit… especially where’s that leatherworking table…
EDIT: ok I found the flight master, 11 o’clock on the left… maybe he can fly me somewhere with a leatherworking table…
EDIT: There is an NPC named Haephesta, standing next to the flight master in Ruby Lifeshrine.
Haephesta is the Ambassador of the Artisan’s Consortium, and she will give directions to the trainers, just like the guards in the old xpacs used to give directions. With a marker on your map.
Do the trainers always come with a crafting table? This I do not know.
