I haven’t had this much fun on my DK in literally forever.

Between tanking as DB Blood, DPS as Frost and UH as Rider or (DB Frost) it just feels so damn good.

I can’t wait for the Arena season to start.

I’m playing Rider’s UH and Deathbringer Blood on my main, having a blast.

Congratz Blizzard, you made me love DK again.
Just don’t ruin it making meta the least fun build like aways lmao.

I have a few questions— any anecdotal info about PvP performance on the below:

  • Blood Deathbringer: Is it able to dish out any real burst? Or do you hit like a wet noodle?

  • Unholy San’layn: How tanky does the spec become?

The DB blood dks I’ve been running dungeons with have been absolutely pumping, so I’d say they’re in a great spot

The biggest problem I’m having is honestly wanting to play both DPS specs at the same time. They’re both too much fun.

Db frost in pvp still hits decent, but not nearly as hard as it used to after the pvp nerfs. Still fun and viable.

I haven’t bothered with San UH, so can’t really comment on it.

Rider giving free AMS alone with the mobility has me picking it over San.

Yeah, all three specs feel pretty good, and our hero talents are collectively amazing. Sanlayn need a tuning pass, Unholy needs a buff, but Rider and Deathbringer are there, and Frost and Blood feel absolutely goated.

I’m hyped that Clawing Shadows+Commander of the Dead is looking optimal for Unholy in raid, it’s my favorite ST build for the spec, but Unholy in general really isn’t doing as well as Frost, so I may only get to play it on farm. I really want to kill bosses with this spec, because it’s super fun.

DW Obliteration has turned out to be a massive, massive improvement on Frost’s gameplay for me. The extra weight on Frost Strike makes it feel a lot more fluid and fun. I do think Remorsless Winter only simming at 4% of your total on single target feels kinda bad. RW has all these passives, and if you minmax all of them, you get half an Obliterate’s worth of damage. Best case scenario, pillar and a massive haste CD like ERW or Lust rolling, that cast does 2 Oblit crits’ worth of damage. Howling Blast is also just skipped in favor of playing into the Obliterate economy a lot of the time. If Blizz can do for RW and HB what they did for FS, Frost will be literally perfect. There’s a lot of nuance and decisionmaking behind these spells that gets thrown to the wayside because they aren’t tuned to do relevant damage compared to our two big hitter spells. Criticism aside, this version of Frost has been extremely fun to play, and has been a massive upgrade on Dragonflight’s Frost. Both hero talent trees are amazing, and the new capstones give us some solid variety in playstyle.

Blood is also really solid. Did 9 heroics today with it, and it’s feeling slick. Deathbringer, as well as all of these insane AoE offensive talents being optimal, has me doing absolutely mondo dam in AoE, which is always a good time. Consumption is something I’ve been sad to see not ran since Legion, and it’s great to be playing with it, Bonestorm, and Tombstone, all in the same spec. I’m finding that well measured Death Strikes can still provide a solid degree of solo immortality, which was a huge concern of mine going into the expansion.

Deathbringer Frost is amazing. It doesn’t add unneeded complexity, but it gives us a new button to press which is great. The Argus scythe effects on obliterate are also really awesome

I came to the forums just to express my enjoyment for DK’s.

I mained a DK back during Wrath, loved it then, especially FROST TANKING!!! Yes I’m still bitter about losing my frost tank lol. But while I love my DK in spirit, it has since MoP it has been my third alt, behind my Paladin and Warrior because I just didn’t think it was as fun.

I’m having so much more fun on my DK now, especially Unholy which I have never really liked at all in the past. And I think THE bigget thing I’m loving is On a Paler Horse and random DK heroes coming to help me. It is so awesome to me. I’m riding Archerus around instead of flying most of the time now. When I log on to my Warrior or Paladin now, it just feels like its missing something.
