Yea blizzard literally has an “import” button for their talent tree and in the same breath they cry “there’s NOTHING we can do stop players from meta-gaming. Absolutely nothing at all!”
Are you suggesting that people should be choosing a Hero Spec with no opportunity to change to the other one?
No. I’m suggesting that every hero spec should have two exclusive active abilities around which the talents revolve
And I get it. I’m probably biased because I still miss double chakrams.
But I legit had no problem playing non meta in SL. I played with the abilities I enjoyed. I made my spec play the way I wanted to play and I didn’t get bored the whole expansion.
It should cost gold to change your spec.
And that gold cost should increase based on your level, and how many times you’ve used it.
Ok, I guess I just don’t get it. Good luck!!
New classes are better received compared to “now you will be inferior to the other people of your class, good luck.”
I’m working on my 6th 80. One of my favorite expansions so far.
It’s so bad I literally subbed to PC XBOX Gamepass and enjoy MW3’s campaign more. Think about that!
This is it bro… this is the end of WoW!
But for like totally seriously I am that bored. Was fun if you play it like a single player game for a few days and then leave though! Nothing mind blowing but fun.
It’s like that secret sauce and side garnish that makes a dish just come together and be like OH YEAH BABY, but it’s missing it. It’s like okay yeah this is good but it totally doesn’t scream amazing or even great to me at all.
Ya’know? Just let the chefs cook man. Let them work their magic Blizz. Oh and give everyone a big fat raise and boost to benefits that might help.
Tons of people playing Shadowlands with non-meta builds outperformed people with meta builds. That whole “I can’t believe I can’t have the skull armor I want because I am stuck with the fairy backpack if I want to be viable” thing was manufactured rage to pay Preach and Bellular’s bills. For the majority of people, they weren’t good enough to see the percentage points of superiority.
And the cosmetics vs abilities thing was such a nothing burger to complain about. Pick the covenant that gives you the abilities you most enjoyed playing with while leveling. You’re going to have more fun pressing that button and you’re going to get hormones which reinforce that, so you’re going to be better at pressing that button, making you do better. But if you have influence and you tell sheep they should be upset about something, it doesn’t take much to form a mob. Next thing you know, people are screeching on the internet about cosmetics being tied to the ability options. In vanilla people would pay ridiculous money for a sword with a proc and there was no transmogs.
Honestly based on what you described that’s understandable that it might cause burnout.
I might be feeling likewise with my main class. I’ve essentially tanked for 3 years and I think I’m finally letting go. I feel re-invigorated after doing so.
im still mad that dks get a calvary
hero talent and not pally like damn
we would finally have mobility lol
Stop comparing people who don’t play remotely properly, with people who have a clue. It’s a needless hit to performance.
Whether they did or not is mostly irrelevant. The entire idea behind covenants completely disregarded how the vast majority of the playerbase plays the game. People argued that players would play what they liked, what looked cool, etc. when in fact, and which was the entire issue with the things, the vast majority of the playerbase picked what was the strongest, and the data backed that up. When you have like 80%+ of a class picking a single covenant, the entire argument about “choice” becomes meaningless. At that point, it makes more sense to just let people swap freely, which they did not long after anyway.
Maybe it’s you?
The thing is, switching was never the issue.
And that’s proven with Hero Talents. Basically just covenants without the restriction.
They both have the same problem. They aren’t transformative or interesting enough. And also a lot of the class fantasy’s are weak/a big stretch.
It’s happened pretty fast for me as well. Granted SL was faster though.
Time to start PVPing. Get your honor gear and jump in rated solo BG.
Switching was the entire issue lol. Once they allowed people to just swap covenants whenever, most of the complaints dried up.
Yea the feigned internet outrage drummed up by influencers.
Those people got exactly what they want with Hero Talents and they’re awful.
So as far as I’m concerned they were proven wrong.
Not sure how anyone was proven wrong when the complaints about covenants were about swapping being awful and then when allowed to swap freely, the complaints stopped lol.
