I’ve been playing since early BC. And every expansion that came out I tried at release. A few expansions I stopped playing after a few months. Shadowlands story is unique and compelling. The questline to 60 was actually fun. The graphics are amazing. The endgame continues to be fun without being too grindy. There’s so many quests, and stories.
Blizzard, great job on this one. Please keep up the theme for the big patches.

Every expansion has had things that I like. Having said that, the last 4 expansions has left a lot to be desired! No reason to rehash all of the problems, we are all well aware of the ‘‘complaints’’, agree or disagree, something changed after MoP.

The linearity of questing is turning me off a bit

only have to do it once to be fair
I kinda agree. The Renown Quests/storyline although time gated keeps the game fresh… giving us new unique stuff to do.
I was surprised this week’s Renown quest involves completing Weekly Jailer quest. For large pop servers, this should be easy. But when I did it the other night with only few people on Quest Dungeon Finder, I can only group with small amount of people … making the game a bit hard and that’s good for me.
Roaming around the map Grinding for herbs and making potions/flasks and farming for meats and fishing for food buff while getting the quest rewards of some locations is also fun mini-game for me which is needed I suppose instead of me buying all those stuffs from AH. Having flasked and food buffed with potions really helps me carry those carry people on M+.
Then add M+, Raids and Torghast. There’s really tons of stuff to do. We are overwhelmed and that is good… far better than nothing to do like on Cata.

@the OP, if your loving shadowlands, then thats great!
With that said every x-pac there has been things i liked and disliked, launch is usually messy in my experience going all the way back to BC…
And now it feels with BFA and now SL, blizz just… doesn’t have the same care they used to, while im still giving SL time since there is some things i enjoy with it, it feels this launch was one of the worst yet, with little being done to patch it up, holidays and Covid im hoping is the cause of it, and not a full on new trend.
MoP is the best xpac since Wrath

I was unsubbed almost all of MoP for a reason. However, I was subbed for all of WoD. People like different things.

Yeah, not so much. Nothing about the story I saw made me want to go back to any zone. I picked my Cov because it was the “best” for DPS. And then just held my nose through the nonsense.

I liked the leveling, atmosphere, customization. End game is pretty meh. My favorite time in wow is still leveling to 60 for the first time.
Absolutely, but if OP can say what he thinks is best so can I
Also WoD would be right after MoP on my list
I had three six month at a time concurrently running subs in MoP. And I hated the idea of MoP. Hated it. But they sold me on it.
WoD, I dropped two when they started the “we think flying should go away” BS.
WoD was just Metzen’s sticky sheet fantasy Orc camp, and I Hated it. But I was right about that going in.
I have to agree! I love Shadowlands so far. It’s the most fun I’ve had in game since Wrath for sure.
best lie of the day right here.
