That really sucks. I didnt interact with battles a ton. I mostly used it as a vehicle to collect pets. But it was one of those things that was just cool that it was a part of the game.
Definitely sad for the people who really enjoyed them.

We have no reliable data - Blizzard is the only one that does.
If it was popular, Blizzard wouldn’t remove it.
We have multiple sources of data that crawl accounts and show unlock data for achievements. Even if you make the argument that they cant hit all casual accounts the odds that the casual account is mythic raiding but not pet battling on the whole is WILD.
You can’t reject facts because they dont fit your narrative.
I can only refer you to what I already pointed out, but feel free to believe what you want.
We do.
We have more than one source of it.
Try this exercise: compare pet achievements, and percentages of pet ownership, between Wowhead and DataForAzeroth.
Blizzard is really dropping the ball here - there is no good reason to stop updating pet battles. It’s just some good fun side content in wow - they already expect us to pay for another expansion faster than normal, with less content than ever before. It’s incredibly lazy, and I hope they change their minds on this one.
You know what else sucks about this?
If you want to buy the expansion early, to get the new pets that come with it, you have to pay the highest price. So, despite shafting us on new content, if you want the Hopeflutters and the Doomfeathers pets as premiums, you have to pay the 89.99 for the Midnight Epic Edition.
Because there are no pets to be had with the Base Edition or the Heroic Edition.
Way to shaft us on cost, Blizzard, but give us no new content.
long as they dont take away what we already have i can understand a bit of the change. Look what happened to the archive/digging skill where we run around n dig up stuff, and bones. I think that stopped after legion…idk its been forever and i never use it.
It stopped after BFA.
It was Archaeology that your talking about it ended after BfA…and many of us Pet Collectors didn’t like that either…many of us enjoyed doing it…plus we got battle pets and toys and mounts from that too…
WHAT THE ACTUAL!
I feel like they were just being Lazy, so many critters running around but you have to get like 20 of them from an RNG drop!
100% agree
And you can’t make up facts just to try and make your narrative make sense.
Here are the facts: If pet battling was popular, as popular as you say, Blizzard would not be axeing it. It would have more outrage than one thread with 50 posts in it.
Just go away , you hide behind a Hidden Profile cause you don’t want to be found out who your man is now…we don’t need players like you in Pet Battle area …this section is for Players that Love Pet Battles and want to keep it alive for the sake of the game and their own gaming time…
It’s a public forum. Anyone is allowed to post in these threads.
For us to do anything for pet battles, it’s important to understand the reality of why it’s being removed. Blizzard isn’t going to gut something for no reason.
I sincerely hope not. This would be disastrous. Hopefully, they reconsider their decision because the battle pets are a significant draw for me.
It’s shills like you that keep blizzard the way they are. Just a note Pet battles have more engagement by the player base than mythic raiding
The numbers have been done… its more popular than mythic raiding… the percentage of players that kill just even the first mythic raid boss when a patch hits is less than pet battlers… you can look these numbers up yourself based on achievements from numerous sites… those numbers are not including the people that did not finish the achievement for the pets and are still working on it.
You have been in this thread stating that there is no reliable data and its not popular but if you actually go and do the research and not what one person is telling you, you can see that it is popular.
Also you stated somewhere in this thread:
You as well cant make up facts just to try to make your narrative make sense.
Also in response to more outrage than one thread… not everyone uses the forums, and not everyone even knows of the changes… i found out about these changes by an some news gaming page i had gradually scrolled past on Facebook.
I’m not saying this is what your doing but it seems you are in this thread because you don’t like pet battling and you want to defend blizzard removing it.
Before responding about the numbers PLEASE go do your own research and you will see its more popular than mythic raiding.
Well, you don’t know why, so stop pretending you do.
Was cruising though X today and seen a post by MrGM …he is saying that the some of the new Pets in Midnight do have Stats …I still don’t like the idea of just throwing a cage onto a wild Pet and not knowing if its common or poor or rare till you get into bags and open it then you got to spend more time getting rid of ones you don’t want…hopefully Blizzard changes this…cause not many are liking this change now…
