This is seriously annoying

In epic bgs I often encounter premades and there is no chance of our team winning. The whole match is just a revolving door of people leaving. So I leave the bg and queue again on one of my alts. But then the chances are extremely high that I just get put back into that same losing bg again, on my alt. It has happened twice in a row before on different characters, resulting in deserter debuffs on multiple characters.

Suggestion: when leaving a battleground, your account is locked from entering that same battleground/instance again.

It’s not good design that our alts can get put into the same battleground that we left on our other characters. I’ll just leave it on those characters too, which will slow down getting new backfills even more.

This has become more of a problem lately as the game continues to bleed players, and there are fewer bg instances going at any one time. I used to just “deal with it” before, but as it’s becoming more and more common, I have to say something. The game’s design needs to stay up to date with these new trends.

To be clear, this isn’t meant to be a “complaint post” focused on premades. Save that for other threads. This is about the issue of getting put into the same losing bgs that you left on other characters.

Edit: well look what this thread turned into. Wasn’t meant to be about premades but that’s what it ultimately devolved into. They are such an issue that this separate topic bled into my thread. Most sane people can agree with my OP about the issue I wanted to be addressed, I guess most premade players aren’t sane people.

It’s not good design that players can ignore the deserter debuff and immediately requeue on a different toon.

The deserter debuff should be account-wide.

Yep. What should happen is if enough people leave the game simply ends. There’s no real point loading backfills into those kinds of games.

[edit]
Solo backfills, anyway, but backfilling premades into premades makes sense.

Agreed.

But someone will come and tell you that it will increase the bot population.
Because if they are forced to stay, they would bot instead.

blizz needs to STOP all premade in pvp

That would be annoying, but it wouldn’t stop me from leaving losing bgs. I’d just play a different game instead. Other people would probably just quit doing epics completely. There would probably be a snowball effect. If people feel forced to just “take it” from premades, that’s probably what would end up happening. They’d quit. You think the complaints about premades and unfair matchups are bad now? Hooo boy… At least now, people can leave and get a different BG on an alt, assuming luck is on their side…

If what you want is more premades and less “randoms,” and overall fewer players doing epics, then account-wide deserter debuff is an excellent idea.

So yeah. Why should I be forced to stay in an unfair match against a premade? Until premades aren’t a thing in bgs, your idea plain sucks. I’m all for comeback matches (as rare as they are), but that never happens against premades 99.9% of the time.

you aren’t going to find sympathy for window shopping your wins.

Oh, don’t you worry about me. Let’s focus on the topic at hand, shall we? What kind of logic says that a player should be put into the same losing bg again on their alts?

sounds like karma for leaving

I know you feel like you should be able to hold players hostage in your premades, but that’s just not conducive to a fun gaming experience for most players.

It’s easy not to care about deserter debuffs when premade players don’t have to worry since they win every game they sync queue into. And don’t try to deny this - I’ve ended up in premade groups myself and never lost any of them yet.

im not saying you shouldn’t be able to rage quit when you feel like it, but you shouldn’t be able to shop for wins.

you can’t balance pvp around experience because it is subjective, one player’s idea of fun is winning, another’s idea of fun is stopping the first one from winning and being as sadistic as the game will allow them to be, this is the nature of pvp, if you can’t handle it, don’t queue for it.

I just do Blitz instead. It’s on a separate deserter system.

so separate players can have the deserter debuff and still queue for blitz

Just a reminder that I have personally been in epic BGs where Inemia has afked out after their team lost the initial fight.

i’ve never been in a match with you.

edit, i even check-pvp’d your alts and nothing is ringing any bells.

That’s what I’m saying. I backfilled a losing WG offense, left, and still queued for Blitz. Blitz is on the rated system.

Yes, because you can remember the names of every person who has ever played with or against you in a 40 man epic BG.

I’ll put my reputation for honesty up against yours any day of the week.

I have no problem with people leaving pointless BGs. I do it myself (if not rated, ofc). I do have a problem with a person criticizing someone else for doing something that they have done themselves, however.

when i leave i eat my deserter, i don’t win shop on alts, and if you had not been so quick to be judgmental, you would have seen that a post later:

i still have no idea who you are, so you could be totally making up that you have seen me quit after losing the first teamfight, though that would have to be a while a go, several expansions even, the only team to recently beat us in the initial teamfight has been Fieldarmy, and we still won the game.

 you hide on an alt and make up vague stories with no evidence and spread rumors based on hearsay. and you did it all in one post.

Yes, I am definitely hiding on an account with a name that I am best known for and with characters that can easily be looked up on check-pvp, which you have claimed to do.

Such good hiding. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not talking about recently, but a couple of years ago maybe. You know, back when you probably weren’t premade queue-syncing. And, now that you are you criticize those who would ditch matches just as you did back then.

I’m not a huge fan of hypocrites.

I hate this behavior so much. Lose first fight? Log on to your alt. Lost again? Log on to another Alt. Win the first fight? try to finish the BG asap and be mad when the team is turtling.
