this whole can’t-post-links stuff is pretty annoying sometimes
does it have to be so?
I am sorry, but it does. The sad part is that people abuse the ability to post links to link to malicious sites, inappropriate sites, illegal sites, and sometimes just spam.
Links can be posted once a person has earned Trust level 3 on the forum. That includes not having any suspensions for breaking rules here.

If you want to post an un-clickable link you can copy paste the text into the forum, highlight it, then click the </> formatting symbol at the top of the post box. That places it in a pre formatted code box so it can still be seen.
