This is probably the worst expansion, technical wise they ever release 15$ where?

Dang. That sounds so much worse than what we had in TWW.

A rough exp launch which we experience almost every single expansion that comes out, vs constant maintenance and bugs through out the expansion. Yeah i would say s too thanks for agreeing lol.

A lot of the bugs and glitches from July 2024 (the TWW prepatch release) are still not fixed, and we’re now in March 2025 :joy:

Dragonflight is the last time we had a mostly code-stable, mostly bug-free game

The sheer volume of bug threads +
The complaints about disappearing gold
The complaints about disappearing repuatation
The complaints about disappearing achievements
The complaints about disappearing guild banks
The number of maintenance days
The number of servers/battle.net outages
etc
etc
etc

all equal poor programming, poor qa’ing and poor quality product.

WoD’s server bugs hit BBC news they were such a big deal.

Once again.

Not saying TWW is perfect. Only that people are using selective memory to pretend like this is the worst ever. Because its extremely important to some people to talk negatively about WoW. Its their entire persona.

If it is not impacting either esports, streamers or the entire customer base it won’t be fixed. They have moved on.

its wild how you comparing an expansion more than 10 years ago to now. Lol its like saying that windows xp has bugs compared to how majorly garbage windows 11 is.

Eh, they don’t work 24/7 either, but yeah

I’ve been watching RWF progress on my second monitor in the background and the Mug’Zee boss has a bug or two that is causing low-% wipes as bombs bug out somehow

There’s been multiple “good” pulls from both Echo and Liquid where the boss would’ve died that pull if the boss mechanic had not randomly bugged out late in the fight (in other words, at the worst possible time)

Didn’t the test team go on strike earlier in the expansion? Seems like a good indicator of the state of affairs, and then it’s probably a lot of ketchup to get on par again. Hopefully Midnight is tighter.

They don’t work 24 x 7 but I suspect they are interested in a more revenue friendly approach - make lots of shiny new objects, fix what is majorly broken, if it is not a deal breaker or impacting revenue move on.

No the QA team got canned. Im sure they went on strike but Blizzard cut ties with their QA teams.

Oh Ok. To me at least, that’s a lot of smoke regarding why the game ran into a lot of issues this expansion. Luckily it’s still playable. Albeit, in kind of a ducked taped together fashion.

Don’t forget about the guild bank bug. I lost a lot of stuff in my personal guild bank and Blizzards reply to that was basically, “Ya…it ain’t coming back…sooo…happy gaming!”

I think the main issue people take with it is this is a paid/$15 per month service… so there is some level of “expectation” of quality from the product (and understandably so)

If it was a free-2-play game or indie game from some no-name game studio it would be whatever, but because folks are paying a monthly subscription fee there is an assumption that some semblance of quality/code stability is going to be included - especially considering the size of the company. So when folks encounter the sheer amount of bugs/glitches served up alongside TWW they get understandably upset (or even just concerned)

this has been worse than the wod launch. at least wod had its major problems fixed early on. were still going with our bugs.

It’s not this expansion, it’s the game in general. There’s stuff completely broken even in previous expansions and they’ve just stopped fixing things. Broken stuff in TWW is just a continuation of this. You see, when you want to please investors, you cut back on things to show strong profits. The investors are clueless to the fact that you’re letting their investment rot and a fall apart, so they just give you a pat on the head and wait for the next quarterly report, oblivious to any real problems.

Remember the days when Blizzard was renowned for their polish and attention to detail?

I missed a couple of expansions along the way but I think that (consistently) this is probably the worst I have seen.

I have seen some bizarro events along the way that would definitely be worse… but those kinds of events seemed far less frequent.

A couple of my favorites:

Mailboxes in vanilla that hovered in the air and completely out of reach. (Fortunately, fixed in a few hours.)

“The Ice Stone has melted.” (This one lasted a while.)

Indeed. I hope it’s more of a outlier expansion than a trend, because unfortunately in the gaming industry this practice of shipping games half broken is common. There’s probably multiple factors at play here besides just the QC team being canned. They may have to do bug testing with a smaller and younger team. Idk for sure, but the hit in quality could be because people have left the company.

I’m just guessing, but as paid customers as you mentioned, we should get a cleaner product. I don’t think people are asking for perfection, just stable enough.

Servers down again lol

Yeah it’s quite shocking honestly.

Half of the undermine doesn’t work properly and has been bugged since day 1.
