I mean, I can see the frustration. You need to raid to get your tank rune, but if you’re getting into the raid that means the raid has tanks, they don’t need you tanking because you can’t tank without raiding. But you can’t tank raids without raiding as a dps. In which case you’re already settled in as a dps.

No but that’s not the statement I was responding to. This is a non-sequitur.
I get that.
But we’ve not seen the future content and it may be that warlock might be favored/optimal tanks for that content.
I know. It’s simply speculation on my part. I have no issue with the voicing of concerns. Just trying to find some bright spots.

That is stupid as well, no rune should be locked behind a raid or rep / gold gate as well. I’m fine with killing higher level / harder mobs but in a raid setting so late into the phase is bad game design. I was so hyped to warlock tank dungeons as i leveled, yeah blizz killed that.

It is not unreasonable for Warlocks who want to tank the new raid to be able to get the rune they need to tank before going into the raid

the only reason i had to try this version was to play as a warlock tank and see if i had enough fun to keep up with this version so now i wonder if i should simply delete my toon and forget sod

A warlock won’t even be able to compete in pvp without this rune. It has nothing to do with tanking the raid. This is basic class function.

If Warriors literally did not have their Protection tree until they finished Ony attunement, then it would be comparable

Ok I laughed but felt guilty.
People are frustrated. I would hope that if Blizzard doesn’t want to change it they at least explain their thoughts as to why.
I’m guessing they tied it to the raid to keep it relevant in later phases.
Yeah, I was leveling my Lock and only started SOD because of the idea of getting meta.
Now seeing what Ill have to do to unlock it. Yeah no thanks, Im gonna play something else. People can argue about whether Blizz is right or wrong all they want I dont really care. Im out.
