In the last 30 days, these are all the changes that have been made to Shadow:
- 9/24/24 - Increased all damage by 4%
- 9/17/24 - Increased all damage by 6% / Decreased psychic link damage by 5%
- 9/3/24 - Voidweaver Shadow priests’ Void Blast damage increased by 20%.
Clearly, shadow is in a great place and just need a little number tweaking. I think if they give us a 2% damage increase this time that will fix everything.

If VT could get a 2.4% increase and SW:P could get a 6% increase I think that would make Spriest S-tier for sure.

I think 3.333% more mastery scaling would fix our utility problems.
3.16% baseline crit for our mobility
And 0.8% versatiliy baseline should make us around mage levels of tanky.
I used the dev tools to calculate this.

The sarcasm is powerful.
I can’t stress enough, tuning numbers can’t fix our godawful class mechanic, non existent mobility and ever dwindling utility.
Rework the spec, then tune the numbers. I’m still secretly hoping that they are aware of the problem but aren’t quite sure what to do about it.

Do you guys reckon overhauling the spec mid season at the start of an expansion is a good time for it?
I reckon they should just throw a huge damage buff at it, make it viable and strong in raid and be done with it for now. Start working on a rework for next season, put the changes into the PTR over time and see what eventuates
Why not, it’s been done before and it’s currently being done in the next patch with classes that require it less urgently than Shadow. The recent Damage buffs to shadow doesn’t change the fact that the spec is poorly designed.

Thats fair enough
As long as the feedback is positive in a PTU thats what matters
I’d rather have it for 11.1 starting with feedback cycles now.
Dragonflight was a rushed job with no time for feedback and we got the current version, which arguably is the worst designed shadow has ever been.
I mean legion was unplayable outside of raid, but it was at least a coherent design.
Since they have no idea what to do, maybe 11.1.5 would be even better with discussion with the devs starting now.

Simple Changes that will smooth out the flow of Shadow Priest
-
Shadow Crash
– Cost: 10 Insanity
– Remove CD
– Remove All Damage
– Applies Vampiric Touch and SW: Pain on up to 10-Targets
– Effect Change: Shadow Crash now instantly appears as a shadowy circle below the targeted location or enemy that crashes in upon itself after 1-second (Aligns with GCD)
-
(New Talent) - Contagion
– Casting Devouring Plague on a target affected by Vampiric Touch or SW: Pain causes them to spread to a nearby enemy not already affected by Vampiric Touch or SW: Pain.
-
Psychic Link
– Psychic Link now deals 30% of direct Shadow Damage on up to 10-targets affected by Vampiric Touch within 40-yards
-
Void Eruption
– Additional Effect: Void Eruption now applies Vampiric Touch to all Enemies Damaged
-
Entropic Rift
– New Effect: When Entropic Rift collapses, it refreshes the duration of Vampiric Touch and causes it to spread to enemies unaffected.
I really dislike psychic link even though it’s responsible for aoe. It’s very unimaginative and gives no visual clues to doing actual aoe damage.
If I had to pick the most boring way to aoe PL would be it.
Our capstones should do more for aoe or heaven forbid we get sear back. Something anything please
