I’ve been testing this on the PTR for a couple of weeks now. This is what I found.
The new “Renowned” achievement is broken on the current PTR build and is REQUIRED for the new covenant swapping to work properly. Assuming this is fixed prior to going live: (EDIT: It was fixed before going live.)
- You MUST have one R80 character on your account that ALSO has the new “Renowned” achievement. If not you need to grind renown in order to use the new features.
- Go to Oribos on any lvl60 character you choose and change to a new covenant in the room where the map table and the 4 covenant reps are located.
- At the new vendor next to the Oribos flight master buy the R40 boost item for ~500g.
- Fly to where it tells you to with the new covenant quest and when you follow the chain to the point where you have an option “I already know my way around…” Select that. This will complete chapters 1 and 2 of the covenant campaign quest chain and award the associated items from those two chapters.
- Complete the follow on quests to the first soulbind.
- There should now be two quest givers nearby that are the NPCs of the 2nd and 3rd soul bind. Complete both quests to unlock the two remaining soulbinds. (You MUST have an R80 that has unlocked that covenant’s 3rd soulbind previously, if you only have one R80 you can do this process on that character for all 4 covenants to meet the requirements)
- Use the R40 boost item.
- Repeat steps 2-6 for each character you want to for as many of the 4 covenants on each as you want to.
Note:
- The renown associated with the 9.0 campaign quest chains is released to be earned in any other means available and is NOT held in reserve any longer.
- The 9.0 Covenant campaign quests do NOT auto complete with the R40 boost and do NOT reward the associated quest chain item rewards or Anima.
- The 9.1 Covenant cosmetic sets are viewable and usable outside of the covenant they belong to, by any of the characters on your account that can use them, provided that you have an R80 in the covenant (even if not currently) that you want cosmetics to be shared by.
- To transmog the 9.0 covenant campaign sets, the related covenant campaign quest for the armor type and covenant you want to use needs to be completed by at least one character on your account. If you want to use all of the cloth, leather, mail and plate transmogs from all 4 covenants, each of the 16 quest chains need to have been completed by at least one character on your account.
- The 9.0 covenant campaign quest chain is NOT required to skip ahead to Korthia on a brand new fresh lvl60 Alt. Bolvar in Oribos offers two skips currently live in 9.1 that jumps alts directly to chapter 3 of the Korthia campaign.
