So I made it a game of estimating the active player base.(for the US)
Blizzard doesn’t release the actual number but it is fairly easy to approximate.
The realm pop website data base doesn’t give an accurate idea of the active player base however with a little deduction all becomes clear. So far for the alliance we have a total of 123.552 dark iron dwarfs created, an allied race you need to be actively playing to make, we then have for the horde 119.150 maghar. For a total of 366.274, throw in there 20 % =(91.568)of that number to account for what I estimate are players that either have the allied races unlocked and didn’t make an alt, or don’t have them yet but are still active.
Edit; if we bring this number as high as 85% of players who didn’t create any alt it still does not get us to one million subs.
And this is assuming everybody that made on of these allied race did not unsubscribe after making them, wich if I didn’t assume would bring the number further down.(so I’m being generous)
Keep in mind this is an estimation but I think it’s very close to the actual number # of active subs =457.842 that’s below 500.000 and a far cry from the once 12 million,
You’re better off trying to use mounts to find players. How many have the Dreadwake is a quick check as you had to have a 6mo sub to get.
How many Meat Wagons, as that shows people willing to spend on mounts for a related game not due for a year. How many people have the new flying fox mount as that shows people willing to pay full price during the store sale.
Then add a wild guess percentage who use gold for token/balance and those who pay quarterly.
Uh huh. Which you’re basing on your own conjecture, which extrapolates data you couldn’t possibly have any actual hard numbers on from data that you haven’t cited a source on – which itself is a flawed basis for your supposition, since it’s possible to unlock Allied Races without wanting to use them or creating a new character with them.
For the active player base, the creating of allied races seemed to be the best choice. For example it’s very unlikely that over 50% of active players don’t have them unlocked and made an alt of them. So is 100%
20% now that’s in the ball park . Thus my conjecture
Mr. Mernepath, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no likes, and may God have mercy on your soul.
If you are an active player by now you should have a bfa allied race unlocked. And I suspect most made an alt of said allied race. It’s kinda simple really
I know someone that has had a constant subscription and their highest level character is 113 because dungeons/raiding/pvp aren’t what they play the game for.
