I was just reminded how foul the community has become.

I was trying to do the assault quests on my monk at level 115 and one of them was the infiltrator quest with a bunch of elites patrolling around the target. A very geared warrior initiated combat with the target and so I thought it a great idea to follow up.

The target does her spinning crane kick and so I run away to avoid the high damage but I unfortunately aggroed one of the elite mobs that did heavy damage. I was in big trouble.

I typed ā€œplease helpā€ and the warrior literally /rofl on me as Iā€™m struggling to heal myself. He watched me die, and then mounted up and left.

People are jerks on the internet. Nothing you can do about it.

All this thread does is give that person the pleasure of seeing how mad you are. Brush it off an move on with your life :man_shrugging:

Some people are jerks. Itā€™s going to happen online no matter what community youā€™re a part of. This is one of those situations where you honestly just have to pick yourself up by the boot straps and press on, because complaining about it wonā€™t make anything better about the situation.

Always been like this. Nothing has ā€˜ā€˜becomeā€™ā€™ itā€™s never changed. It just depends what experiences you have which is random at any given time in any given iteration of this game.

WoW used to have a much better community bacj in the server community days. It was never perfect but it wasnā€™t ever as trashy.

Play classic with the rest of us. When the community had honor. Not saying there wasnā€™t toxic players but it was alot less than it is now.

The other day I was questing on an alt, and another player ran up and stole the quest item I was clearing to. So I followed him and stole the next quest item he cleared to. He told me to kill myself and challenged me to a duel, so I accepted, beat him within an inch of his life, knocked him into some nearby mobs, and laughed as he died. The moral of the story is that there are no morals and everyone is terrible.

False. Take off the rose glasses and you might remember that people have always been awful. There was rampant toxicity in vanilla and anyone who can remember those days without nostalgia daydreams knows it.

Yes Kesnal, we all know you are a Classic enthusiast. But letā€™s not kid ourselves, people in this game have always been the way they areā€¦ problem is, not everyone shares the same experiences.

Ergo why we see people sometime say ''well it doesnā€™t happen to me so it must not be a thing" when this topic comes up sometimes.

Unfortunate, but hopefully not typical. Iā€™ve even jumped in to help opposing factions down something, even though the NPC was grey.

I remember when I first made a Night Elf, my very first character ever made in World of Warcraft 12 years ago, and my 13 year old self thought to go ask another player why they were running around as a bear and how I could as well

I was told to kill myself for failing to have basic reading comprehension.

I was also leveling my Tauren in the Barrens and someone in the 30-40 range was camping and killing all of the animals with a few of his buddies, saying people had to pay him a toll to be allowed to quest there.

Iā€™m not, actually. I sincerely only want to it succeed so Blizzard becomes more aware at what a failure this new direction is.

Long time ago prior to this auto target somebody attacking you thing, I used to garrote vanish low levels and watch them attempt to outrun the bleed, not knowing what was on.

Then create a word for what you label yourself as regarding how great classic was, that somehow retail should adopt and let me know 'cause I donā€™t feel like playing semantics, it has nothing to do with ā€˜ā€˜extremesā€™ā€™.

You clearly donā€™t like current wow, and have an admiration or appreciation for classic , reading all of your postsā€¦ so come again?

Itā€™s been like this since forever. I act like a complete tool sometimes as long as it insā€™t actual in game griefing and iā€™ve been playing since vanilla. People like me are everywhere.
