These forums are not a proper representation of the community
Oof! I couldn’t uninstall that game fast enough. Talk about a cesspool. It’s a free game that’s barely worth more than the player base.
Don’t be divided. Multiply.
There’s a monty python song I really want to link here…
It already has grown. Dragon flying, solo shuffle, mythic+, and many other features have been great additions.
We are talking about players
I think that your idea is wrong from the get-go. The forums don’t represent all of the community. Most of them on the forums are the active minority who just like to talk or voice their opinions or are more “vocal” for whatever reasons. Don’t have friends in-game or like to mess around while at work or just murk around and be an annoyance or some troll of sorts. Whatever reason, have you. They’re the “active” minority, they don’t represent everyone but they DO have some sort of an influence on the outlook of the neutral players regarding the community because they’re the “active vocal” ones.
Having said that. Yes, the forums are always divided and its Blizzards fault for welcoming all the twitter and fb nonsense into their game to get more popularity or whatever.
Most people here like to argue just to “win” as funny as it may sound to you. And childish but you got a lot of immature people around since its a mixed lot. Most rejects irl, myself included roam around here and while some are decent people; some can be downright toxic because there’s no punishment for obtuse trolling or trolling in a passive-aggressive way which they all tend to stick to.
Game’s already so old. I’m curious to see how long it’d last. I like your idea but reality check? Most people who play wow are into it for nostalgia’s sake or because there’s nothing else really for them and its cheap entertainment that makes them happy. Be it small things like mog collections, toys, doing m+ or raiding, pvp etc. Its fun! However, there’s always a time when people grow too old to be able to do the things that they enjoyed. And with no influx of the newer age group or not as prominently as I’d like to see that happen, I think that it won’t keep going for more than 10 years unless things change somehow.
Well would you look at that
you based all of this on flawed info.
Nobody with two braincells to chuck together thinks the GD forums is an apt microcosm of the game as a whole, given that half of us here are just here for word-based pvp.
You are never. Let me repeat that for emphasis. You are NEVER going to get consensus. You never were not even back in the beginning.
when you have a player base this diverse, The opinions are going to flow like water. For the most part I think they stick to their own vision and try to incorporate things when they can.
Blizzard has a tendency of corrupting what we ask for. Honestly not to put them down they have a tendency to corrupt everything they do by making it gated and repetitive. I know I know how else are you going to keep people playing…
The game will grow simply because the developers design what they want, and players may play it, or not.
What I really find amusing, is the community asks for flight from the start of an expansion, Blizzard makes a version of flight that’s faster, and more engaging, and the players on these forums are like: No, that’s not what we meant !
My main issue honestly is that all content is not open from the get-go, and factions/races.
Delete timegating all together, and remove the faction/race barrier and open all classes to all races. That would respark my love for this game. I’ve wanted night elf warlocks and paladins since I started playing in Wrath.
I just want to get conquest gear to stomp on people in random bg’s like i have for over a decade now.
So you can consume it all in a week, and then make forum posts about how there’s nothing to do?
I don’t do that. I grinded azerite, timeless isle, visions, tanaan jungle, anima.
Whatever endless currency there is, I’ll go grind it. Or I’ll spam keys for valor/io. Always something to do.
I see what you did there…
