Fine. Let me know when you get bored of heroic dungeons.

…wow.
…what is it you would say that you do here? I mean seriously, what do you do in WoW? I’m going to blindly assume that this mage isn’t your main.

Due to the generally alt-unfriendly design of this xpac. Most people aren’t playing alts. But If their main class was able to tank, they may take that opportunity.
Keeping the tanks so restricted is causing a problem. This wouldn’t miraculously fix everything wrong with Queues. But it would help a lot
There are more than enough classes that can tank currently. Every new class added to game has had a tank specialization. The lack of pug tanks is not due to lack of class diversity. It is due to in a PUG everyone expecting the tank to know the dungeon forwards and backwards while they choochoo behind them and then proceed to blame them for anything going wrong.
It’s my main now that I’ve stopped maining my tank. Are you genuinely surprised that someone who doesn’t enjoy current group content has stopped doing it? I could spend all day being angry and frustrated at group content, but that’d be really stupid of me y’know? The game’s supposed to be fun, so I stick to things I can still enjoy. Questing, Collecting Pets and Mounts, Roleplay. I’ve even found PvP funner than PvE these days, purely because it’s slightly more social than the average dungeon group. Not enough that I’m going to become a PVPer mind you, but the state of Group PvE is very saddening to me as someone who used to enjoy that content.
I also wouldn’t say I’m bored of dungeons. I find them very frustrating and stressful. Certainly not because they’re hard, but because the game has changed in such a way that I simply no longer enjoy the way it is played.
Tauren-Crap.
The tinker fantasy stretches much wider than that.
Orc engineers are well known for their war machines, the Blackrock clan had a massive foundry the size of a mountain.
The dwarves are responsible for much of the alliance guns, firepower, and tanks. Notable NPC’s like Thaelin Darkanvil are able to completely dismantle enemy machines with a wrench and a little know how.
Even the Draenei and Blood Elves have impressive mechanical constructs that can hold of the armies of the Legion and the Scourge respectively.
And every race in the game can at least pick up the basics of engineering
Get your head out of your butt and look at the universe
You say Thaelin Darkanvil.
I point to Dwarf Fortress.
Who says Gnomes and Goblins have this “tinker” think on lock?
There are already 11 ranged dps specs out of 24 dps specs.
I would really like more ranged non caster specs with a pet, were currently down to one in entire game, coming from 3 from vanilla (lone wolf and surival changes). I hate having only 1 spec in entire game i can choose as.
Ive been saying Shaman tank for ages. It would be really fun to play.
Shaman: earth warding
-summons a stone golem unique to the player’s race
-mastery: a percentage of all damage you take is instead dealt to your golem. A percentage of all damage you deal is dealt as healing to your golem.
-tunneling: replaces ghost wolf. Tunnel underground, increasing movement speed and reducing damage taken, as well as reducing the distance at which enemies will detect you.
-shield based attacks: lava bash instead of lava lash/burst. Storm slam instead of lightning bolt. Other spells could also utilize the shield offensively.
Mage: kinetic
-mastery: force armor. In combat you project magical armor around yourself, reducing damage taken and reflecting a percentage of all incoming spell damage.
-telekinesis: offensive spells include force blasts, throwing environmental objects at enemies, creating waves of force to push enemies away, pulling enemies to you.
-gravity based spells as well: black hole/gravity well to pull enemies to a central point like gorefiends grip. Lessen weight buff on allies to increase speed, increase weight on enemies to slow them down.
-offensive use of portals: create a portal under an enemy that they fall into, then a second portal shoots them out at another enemy.
Arbiter in Rift relied on frost bubbles/spells and time slowing abilities to tank if I remember correctly.
This actually sounds awsome.
i’m too scared to tank with the tanks we already have!
I would like to see a class with 2 out of its 3 specs being a tanking spec, similar to how a priest has 2 healing specs.
A fairly dedicated tanking class, maybe something like a swordsman who deflects damage back at enemies, could be a high damage tank class or something…idk just spitballin here.
Even more of a magic based tank would be cool, casting protection wards and stuff.
Blizz doesnt need to do squat to get more players tanking. This has and always will be a community based issue. Maybe if the player community wasnt so selfish and judgmental all the time more people would que lfg as tanks.
No amount of bribes from blizz is going to convince me to tank for sniviling little brats that nerd rage at the slightest error. I got better things to do with my time.
I personally would like to see a new healing class with a ranged dps spec.
Why would adding a new tank spec achieve this when it didn’t when they added one the last 3 times. 4th times the charm?
Tanking was my go-to role, Brewmaster was my favorite until they did “something” to it.
Don’t f*** with how my character plays, he was fun in Legion and now he isn’t.
Not to mention everyone seems to have a DH now, aren’t they the best tanks?
There was too much tank competition I remember.
Oh man, this old chestnut.
I do like the idea of an Earth Shaman tank spec, that being said - new specs won’t resolve the tank shortage. All three tank specs they introduced had a heyday of being insanely OP and it did not lure enough non-tanking players to the role. The DH even started right at the current content, was flashy, could glide and double jump and was not overly complicated - and they were way tankier in Legion.
They have added 3 classes, all can tank. It did not solve the issue.
What makes you think forcing a spec on people will fix the issue?
Let’s get to the root of the problem. Why don’t you tank pugs?
