This game is not defendable anymore

Please, don’t start with the ‘you don’t have to do it if you don’t like it’ nonsense.

Players want to remain relevant and on par with their peers. This necessitates having to do dailies and invasions and horrific visions. I don’t think most players enjoy doing dailies, honestly. It’s more of a chore that needs to be done less you fall behind the pack.

Yes, no such thing as a game that loses its way. Black and white, either the player is ungrateful or the game is not functional.

You may be misunderstanding my stance in this argument.

Blizzard doesn’t owe anyone except their shareholders anything, anymore. Which is why we’re at where we’re at. Blizzard of yesteryear cared more about making a game people loved, and that was why the game hit 12 million subscribers.

Where are we at now? 2 at most, prior to Classic, which doubled it?

Pet battles don’t give you gear or anything that can make your progress through PvE. Candy crush and memory can add to the 4 emissary quests to get a 445 gear.

Or you could, you know, LOOK before you fly.

I still like playing it because I play it with my family and friends.

I’m plenty frustrated. For a year I complained I don’t want go grind for stupid. But I decided I wanted to unlock the foxes. Do all the quest at a bubble a day? I’m doing it. You want me to grind? Fine I’ll grind but time gating the grinding? That’s insulting, After weeks of taking to turtles and killing trash I’m almost there. But dammit, if I want to grind for 12 hours LET me.

I must be, sorry.

Aren’t there pet battle WQs that count towards emissaries too, if that’s really what you’re concerned about?

You don’t need to defend it.
If you dislike it, don’t play it!
I for one feel the opposite.
This expansion was solid for me, but its REALLY good now.
Like, easily the most fun I’ve had in years.

Took me a while to get good corruption, but that plus a new Blood DK playstyle and the best seasonal affix to date has me loving everything about this patch.
Even leveling alts to do more things the patch offers.

You’re right. My bad and therefore I agree that pet battles shouldn’t give rep or gear either.

I enjoy M+ and old content.

If I stop enjoying the game, I’ll stop playing. Wouldn’t be the first time, won’t be the last.

In the meantime, I’m still enjoying it just fine.

And for what it’s worth, I’ll take those little minigames over another kill 29792835239857 mobs for 12 gold any day.

I can name all the ways retail has dinged my interest in staying subscribed as well.

  1. Gutting warlocks from WoD to BFA. One of my favorite classes turned into a useless raid turret.
  2. Focus on e-sports making everything about movement, movement and more movement heavily penalizing hard casters while making the game a snoozefest for melee.
  3. Removing rep tabards and forcing me to do dailies which I dislike greatly.
  4. No account bound rep or essences or really anything to mitigate the grind so you need to repeat the very thing you dislike if you for example realize too late warlocks stink for what you want to do.
  5. Story told all over the place. In books, online articles, developer comments and finally in the game itself.
  6. Old Gods - lol.
  7. Follow removed from PvP. Such that if you accidentally wind up in PvP in the world now you’re stuck as a multiboxer. Even 2 boxing with warmode off.

I’ve uninstalled the game twice in the past four weeks and removed payment details awhile back. Today after failing a vision because of an in-combat bug with something that I couldn’t find even after looking for it I’m feeling that uninstall itch coming back. It’s getting easier and easier to find reasons not to play this game.

Snowfox’s legacy lives on. We have a green telling us to leave if we don’t like it.

I love this game and want it to survive this BS. Did you forget how awesome it was until MoP when we had REAL PVP and REAL progression?

So, this weekend I was playing.

I was close to 75 Neck level, so I decided to work AP. I cleared all of the emissaries, and worked the 20 WQ Weekly quest.

I did… 3? (I think) Island Expeditions to put me over the top on AP.

Oh, I also did the Assault in Uldum. And I solo’d a Vision. And I did an M8 Underrot so Santa could put something in my stocking for today. I did some heroic Workshop hoping for Sprocket drops, but no luck.

I had fun doing the WQs. Went zone to zone, both islands, just flew and did them all. Beating up underpowered mobs does not bother me (that said, I don’t care for AOE one shooting mobs in truly low level content). But, I like bonking mobs.

The vision was fun, nail biter, just made it on Thrall. Had a close call on the Orb.

I like the Assault in Vale better than in Uldum. The density is just better.

I didn’t care for the Heroic Workshop. We just face roll through it, stand in the fire, it’s just uninteresting. How is that different from WQs? Not much, it’s just sustained gogogo. At least there’s some gathering and whatever in the WQs, plus just being out in the world. I like the Workshop as a zone, save for the detecto-bots and that conveyor thing. But the fights aren’t interesting at all.

The Island Expeditions. I never did these much. Is there a Horde party playing the other side, or is it just a really bad AI. My groups seem to routinely just crush the other side. Not super interesting content, damage sponges with no danger. But they were fast enough to get me my neck. I doubt I’ll do them again, since there’s nothing compelling for the neck after this (3% stamina – whee).

So, that’s my gameplay. Shoving chaos bolts in to mobs faces is fun, for a while. It ebbs and flows, but I don’t find it irredeemable.

It is good advice… I have my massive cross realm raider group that let’s me easily access content I enjoy but if your unhappy it’s best you find something that makes you happy.

I enjoy parts of the game I just desire certain parts trimmed.

Honestly now all I do is get on all my alchemy alts and do my anchor weed CDs, put them on the AH and log off. I just really miss how this game used to be. We used to be heroes defending Azeroth against evil. How did we end up getting turtles to the water?

To point out glaring issues with something you love is not to say you want to stop playing. It is to say you care and want the best for that which you love.

I don’t want to dislike this game. I love it. It’s helped me through very rough times in life. I live with crippling depression and this game makes me feel strong and good. I’m just so sad to see the direction it’s taking.
