Usually when I put up a group for 12+ keys especially NW, people are hammering down to get through. What gives this week? Did a huge load of subs fall out this week as well? Man if this keeps up, WoW won’t be worth playing even before the end of the summer. I still call it that this will be the last expansion.
Maybe people are avoiding you. I would.
You don’t even know me numbnuts.
We keep hearing from forum denizens that nobody ever leaves the game, nobody would ever leave the game, especially not those who say they’re bored and have unsubbed. I think blizzard is stuck in a narrative loop like that. Surely we’re all so addicted no one would ever leave!
Merely the tip of the iceberg. I have never seen the world so dead. Players have stopped leveling new characters. The future of the game is…questionable. More of the same, only somehow less impressive? We will see what happens. Or we will if we stick around long enough.
The real question is why would anyone play?
Do you like the transmog? Well, they’ll be super easy to get in a year.
Do you like player power? Well, you’ll be a lot more powerful in a year.
Do you like the story? Well, go look it up.
Do you like friends? They’re in FF14.
I cannot think of one reason to play outside of loyalty or attachment. There’s nothing new to explore, see, or experience, either, outside of 1 tiny zone and 1 raid.
Maybe they see that you are 225 ilvl and can’t time 12s. How is that even possible.
Same here to be honest. Ff14 is some how more appealing to me atm and I’m past end game.
My ff14 dead cycle is more fun that wow atm…and honestly that just makes me sad.
How’s it even possible to care?
I assume the ppl who don’t want to join his keys care.
Well I got back in 8.3 after many many years off, so I’m neither loyal or addicted to wow, but I’m enjoying the game and so are my group of friends. I look forward to logging in and playing after work.
The reason is the same as it’s always been, to advance your character and have fun.
Tyrannical+Necrotic =
And it’s Tuesday, I’d be willing to bet a mass majority are raiding
Trying to figure out what I’m more tired of seeing - people creating threads saying that the game is dying or the whiteknights that charge in and try to convince everyone that if they don’t like WoW it’s because they’re bad and WoW is bigger than it’s ever been and don’t ever say a bad word against it!!!
/yawn
These types of threads do seem to go to extremes.
There’s a couple of thread titles that go something like “Where is everyone?”
“Game feels dead.”
“The game is dead now.”
In each of them you can find people advertising for FF14 or 16 or w/e number it is.
You can also find the staunch devotees of this game.
Maybe everyone’s imagination has taken a hit or something and that’s why all the trollish/fun type threads are gone now.
I miss those.
Trash affixes this week that nobody wants to run keys.
Yep! Which is why I farm old content
Only enough to do old content (fix Legion scaling Blizz)
Nope, don’t care about any story in any game nor will I ever.
Not really, just want people to associate with
Actually they are in discord
Depends on the player, all the collectors I know are still a collecting lol
some possibilities
the people who were farming sub +15 keys for upgrades got them
the people who were farming sub +15 keys for upgrades were raiding tonight
the people who made the early push to KSM got it last week, and have moved past +12 keys
the people intelligently decided they don’t want to group with gnomes
who knows.
if you do a search of players who claimed they unsubbed 3 months ago, they mostly appear to still be active.
there were landmasses added
more space = less chance to run into players.
wm then splits those players.
chromie time splits them further.
just because you’re not seeing them, doesn’t mean they’re not there
With how time-gated the story is, there is no reason to sub until the very end of the patch or expansion when all the time-gating is lifted, and that’s only if someone really wants to experience the <1 hour’s worth of story content added by each patch.
A casual player has no reason to stay subbed to “keep up” with the story since all the immersion-breaking time-gating ruins the flow of every plot, and they’ll forget everything by next week because how forgettable it all was. Then there’s also the needless time-gating on LFR. A casual player would be better off waiting until the end of the expansion, paying the sub for a month, and finishing what little content there actually is.
nuts, I can’t relate unless you are talking about the ones I store for the winter…in that case, those do get a little numb, and bitter. Wow, do they get bitter.
Even I have unsubbed [not announced like the magical unicorn I am]…I simply wait it out, see how it goes. Though I admit unsubs are VERY rare for me, I usually find myself back shortly later [but let me stress the game currently IS pushing it lately :)]
still good for collectors. they just collect whatever they want and nothing else matters really.
i think the game has a few more years but i have a feeling it’s nearing the end lol. when it dies people will play on private servers
