This game is dead and its because PvP healers are dead

6 solo shuffle lobbies as healer this evening after work, battled for wins, going 3-3, 4-2, 3-3, 2-4, etc… to climb.

One bad lobby and I lost 50 points, which was more than double the rating I had won from any of those previously mentioned lobbies. Completely destroyed my entire climb.

This game sucks for healers. Its not because healing is bad, or im bad, or anyone is bad… Its because your rating system for ppl to climb is completely fried.

Sure, PvE is fun… for like the first few weeks of a new release, but then ppl want to pvp. Look at all the major / popular games on twitch streaming platform, its not pve games. Its PvP games.

WoW retail 2025 is dying because ppl who want to PvP dont want to play healer, but then they have to wait 20 minutes for a pvp queue to pop. Stop screwing over the players who are healing, by completely wrecking their whole grind / climb with devastating rating losses.

This game is dead. Don’t heal. Don’t PvP. Just play another game. Blizzard doesnt deserve the money Ive spent on bnet for boosts, transmogs, expansions, mounts, toys, etc. This game is a complete rip off.

This game is great and it’s because PvP is dead.

I don’t see how people not wanting to perform a single role in a minigame would be capable of killing the game as a whole.

Can I have your gold?

Anyone coming to an mmo for pvp needs to get their head checked. Play literally any other game for vastly superior pvp. Even Tetris has vastly superior pvp. You ever kill a noob with a 2x2 block in Tetris? It’s an amazing feeling.

But also because healing is bad. When your teammates are good, you spend a lot of the time feeling useless, and when your teammates are bad, it’s torture.

Great advice and I will add, play dps in M+ and raid, you might wait a long time but it’s good, consistent fun when you get in.

Probably not a great metric. If you don’t restrict it to games only then people seem to rather watch chatting/irl streams.

Even if it’s gaming only then you still have PvE and single player games spike around their release and there’s all the contracts/deals paying streamers to play the new hot thing or whatever.

This just looks like another “my personal taste being neglected is why everyone is upset” kinda thread though. imo wow pvp stopped being fun almost 20 years ago, so somehow I’ve been having fun wrong for that long.

Dang, that’s some pretty low standards that I can’t understand

There was a good point in the op–that healers are overly punished in rated pvp scoring–and it got lost in all that nonsense about WoW being dead because pvp sucks. What a shame.

“this game” = “healing in solo shuffle”

games been dead since launch

There’s one thing I gotta explain about ‘MMR Heaven’ and MMR Hell’.

Applicable all the way to ~2050 before it starts getting consistent.

MMR heaven = you’re the lowest rated in your group (by far). Winning gets you big points and losing loses you minimal or no points.

MMR hell = you’re the highest rated in your group (by far). Winning gets you nearly nothing. Losing does big losses of score.

I think PVP existing inside of WoW is dead.

You can kinda see the decomposition when War Mode was added. You basically can opt out of 50% of what the game used to be, which was interacting with the other faction in the open world.

Then they made it to where PVP and PVE need to be completely separate universes, you can’t cross over between them anymore. You can’t create a chracter, go get arena gear, then jump into Kara/SSC/TK with your PVP gear anymore. You can’t take your PVE gear into PVP anymore because 1 they template nerf the trinkets and 2 they’ve fabricated a versatility wall and pretended it isn’t resilience since no one in their right mind stacks Vers in PVE past a certain point. Vers isn’t going to help past a certain point in high keys, at some point you get DR and would be better off doing more damage.

I wish PVP would just be a separate client. Clone the game, remove the entire open world, make their open world Kalimdor or some random thing, leave everything the same, then you can design that COMPLETELY for PVP.

Then you can have the PVE client and design that COMPELTELY for PVE, you can give tanks unlimited mobility and insane CC and 10 knockbacks because they aren’t infecting PVP and being balanced under the arena microscope.

Shuffle killed what little pvp was left.

Was absolutely terrible for the game.

This is why I stick to healing random casual BGs. It’s still fun, not overly serious and a good healer can carry it to victory.

Let me tell you a secret, PVE healing is also a nightmare nowdays. I can only imagine how insuferable healing in PVP must be right now.

PVE Healing isn’t as bad with affixes gone, I’m not having to do mass roots on Spiteful, while weaving in Cyclone/Hex on Incorp, while spamming dispel and over heals on Afflicted, while my other 4 team do absolutely ZERO to help with them. Maybe 2 out of 6 keys the DPS would actually help on Incorp.

The problem with healing now is they want to pick and choose and go back and forth on what specs are able to spot heal and how well they’re able to do it and they want each healer to have a niche and a special build and be a unique snowflake and some get interrupts and some can do damage while they heal and some do zero damage and some can have their big DPS things interrupted (Convoke).

The problem is that Blizzard is having an internal conflict between their vision of healing and caving to homogenization.

Your own fault for healing Solo Shuffle.

I did that back in DF and never returned.

It’s just NOT fun for healers. You’ll always be blamed and/or tunneled on.

DPS are seemingly never at fault no matter how bad they do, running out of line of sight of heals and then dying and chewing out the healer for it.

I’ve seen it too many times, just quit myself.

Play BG Blitz instead, you can get all the same Rated PvP stuff and enjoy it more.

That’s why I’ve done.

I never really liked arena anyway, always the same FOMO/Meta classes in there.
