This game has zero class identity

Homogeneous class designs. I truely hope that with 11.0 comes huge class redesigns ones that focus on class identity like in legion. Sick of feeling like a dime a dozen classwise. I wanna feel unique.

Pallies / misweavers should be bis ST healers.
Holy priests/evoker should be bis aoe healers
Rdruids should be bis at rot mechanics

Mages bis aoe spec
Aff spread damage dealers
Feral bis ST spec

Etc etc etc

Instead we are all the same. You want everything perfectly balanced (which is already an impossible feat) then you add multiplicative damage enhancements that stack with other multiplicative enhancements and now evoker buffs too? Sheeeeesh.

Good. Luck. With. Balancing. Lol.

You want us to bring the player not the class, yet you tune so improperly that 100% of the time people bring the class not the player.

If that’s gonna be the unavoidable reality, at least give us back more class identity. Thanks kindly. <3

Edit: Bruh those of you that scrolled through this thread not using your brain is baffling to me.

Ofc I know a hunter doesn’t look the same as a Ret Paladin. I’m not talking about “muh hunter shoots things, my warrior swings things”

It’s about how the classes feel to play. Some of you think that just because your spell A. Looks different than spell B it’s not the same.

Then there are others that get it. All the builder spender crap all feels so mundane and monotonous it’s insane.

Do not compare me to a priest. I am not even remotely similar.

so take a problem and make it worse? I get what you’re saying… But you will definitely take classes if only one of them can do it.

We’ll probably gonna get a lot more homogenization
Some specs are still too out of line. Like frost mage has five abilities just for aoe, while shadow priest and ret pal has only one button that designed for aoe only.

Prot warrior most stylish tank

Etc etc etc

The only class redesigns I want are for the specs that haven’t been touched since Legion. The ones that feel like they’ve played the same for a decade and are less flexible/getting left behind by the newer ideas slapped onto more modern renditions.

I choose to believe your avatar pic shows you with a wild mane of fire red hair

And class identity when out in legion when everyone complained that they couldn’t do what every other classes could.

No.

It used to be that way and everyone cried.

I agree OP :100:

Heres a thought, just make classes better to play. I don’t give AF that my class is unique, what I want is if my class can not be at the bottom of logs in raiding and mythic+.

They are homogenized… that’s intended…

Because people CRIED FOR YEARS that “How come THAT class can do THIS but I CANT!”

So, every class and spec got the same tools so no one CRIED.

Now, we are crying to be different.

People will never be happy, lmao…

Sorry, but as a destruction warlock, I do not see a mage spamming immolate, or a Warrior using Chaos Bolt, or a Pally using Summon Imp…

i guess from a balance perspective it’s also easier on them…but i dislike it very much
:broken_heart:

Idk mate. Other MMOs seem more homogenized to me. For example, wows biggest competitor, FFXIV has much more homogenized classes. All the healers, DPS, and tanks have pretty much the same skills but with different names and animations. Each of their classes has like two things that make the classes feel different. Hell, many of the classes literally share the same spells. ESO is even worse with this.

What MMO would you say has more class uniqueness than WoW?

i’d say none come even close…but the issue for me is that we did have eras of good class fantasy/identity…I’d say Legion was a great example of that…idk why they took that away, because I thought most players liked that stuff.

that’s why it feels horrible imo

BDO. You can not say every class there is the same.

It wasn’t just that. You were literally excluding OR Frantically trying to bring one class… Heck back in vanilla one race of one class.

That kind of design doesn’t work in today’s game. Mythic+ would get 4x worse in time waited or aggrevation.

It didn’t work back then it certainly would fall apart today.

Sure. But we are talking gameplaywise my friend

Legion was amazing for class fantasy through the class hall campaigns and class mounts. Love it!

But I don’t feel the class design was less homogenized in Legion compared to now by any means. Considering legion removed all the class unique buffs maybe even less so.

For example playing brewmaster on this guy feels nothing like playing my blood DK.
