What happened to this game? Classic is filled with GDKP. Retail is filled with a community that only cares about the meta. Blizzard does absolutely nothing but indulge the people who act like jerks and they never fix the issues to make the community less toxic. Let’s get into some examples:

Them putting the WoW Token in Classic, instead of handling the bot problem. They make a long post saying “but we do ban bots” when we literally see the same bots for months in bgs. Report the bots, nothing happens. Ignore the bots, nothing happens. But now Blizzard gets to milk the community for more money instead of solving the simple problem.

Affixes in Heroic dungeons in Wrath. Literally nobody asked for this, nobody wants it, nobody enjoys it. They’re lazy and are just an illusion of new content. Blizzard is just slapping Classic players in the face at this point forcing all the garbage from retail that players wanted nothing to do with into the old versions of the game. Nobody wants M+ style affixes in Heroic dungeons, nobody wants the token in Classic, nobody wants buffed content. We want an authentic recreation of what we loved when we played it before the company turned into the garbage it is now.

M+ Affixes feel dreadful, keys feel dreadful. The M+ system is so outdated and the community is so absurdly toxic around having only meta specs. Despite earning KSH every season, despite being a CE and HoF raider, despite being a multi Gladiator player. It can take me upwards of an hour to an hour and a half just to FIND a single key that’ll take me just because I’m not playing the top tier meta classes. Blizzard has found a way to kill this system by just making things obnoxious for no reason other than to be obnoxious. Guess what you need the random poison dispell now for ???, and you need a lust because we can’t allow players to just use drums, oh ya and you need both a tank and healer which are the least played specs in the game because Blizzard refuses to update roles.

M+ got made harder for no reason but to appease a miniscule amount of players. There’s no reason that gear should have been increased to having to complete 20s to get the equivalent of what 15s gave the past 9 seasons. Sorry to be that guy, but the majority of the playerbase left in this game isn’t capable of doing 20s, especially when you artificially inflate the difficulty and refuse to adjust actual problems. Making small changes to dungeons that don’t matter and no changes to actual problems within the dungeons themselves. For example there’s no reason that the first boss in Brackenhide, Gnashtooth, can still one shot players.

Tanking and Healing are outdated and boring. Instead of making these interesting roles to play, they instead force you to worry about idiotic things like threat as a tank or damage as a healer(which is redundant and why the role is trash now). FFXIV has nailed tanking, threat isn’t a thing, if you’re a tank, you have your tank stance active, you’ll have aggro on everything. I don’t understand why they need to continuously make threat obnoxious and annoying to worry about as a tank. A healer has to DPS or they’re a bad healer, I refuse to play any form of healer since this change was implemented(mostly in MoP/WoD). Why can’t healers just focus on HEALING like the role implies?

Regular rotational abilities should NOT BE TALENTS. This is common sense, things like interrupts, main abilities, ect. shouldn’t be used for talents. Talents are supposed to be an addition to gameplay, not the only way you can actually play. Some classes feel like absolute garbage when trying to level, example Fury Warrior has no rage consumer until mid 30s. It’s idiotic…
Of course the white knights are going to jump in and say “maybe the game isn’t for you anymore”, but the reality is the game doesn’t feel enjoyable at all anymore. It feels like a list of chores and that list feels stupid doing your weekly chores just to get some gear and sometimes you still get nothing despite investing dozens of hours a week. I did 8 +16s two weeks ago and got ZERO DROPS. I did an 18 yesterday, asked someone who had 447 crafted equipped in the slot if they needed the drop they got, they say “nope” and just disenchanted it and then left the group. Blizzard does nothing to help the game feel rewarding for players who invest all this time. I can’t tell you how many times in the last two expansions my vault has had 3 pieces FOR THE SAME SLOT. What happened to the great vault update btw? Just something else that was abandoned after it was mentioned?

of this game being designed in a way that that only cares about milking money from the players or milking the “time spent in game” success metric that they use on quarterly reports. Why can’t they just listen and make a game that’s enjoyable? EVEN THE GAME DIRECTOR HASN’T PLAYED SINCE SHADOWLANDS. I’m so tired. I just want to enjoy the game that I spent half my life with, but it just feels like the devs don’t care to make an enjoyable game anymore and only care about making MAUs look inflated with nonsense like counting your phone, computer, and laptop has 3 different MAUs to trick investors. Can we just have a game that doesn’t feel like a chore for once in the last decade?
