This feels like a bioware RPG with online mode

So far, a lot more talking, escorting, reading, viewing cinematics etc. then actually killing stuff. I know some people might dislike that but I love it.

I am engrossed in the art, the graphics, the music, the characters, the story. This is a wonderful change of pace from BFA. I feel like my character is taking part in an interactive movie. And I love it.

I just want to get to the vampire stuff.

At least all this walking and talking might actually be of some interest.

I really like it. It’s got this diablo feel to things, and the story is interesting. I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Excuse me can you just let the lore fans enjoy the story for a minute before we start to AoE things into oblivion

I got Doom eternal vibes from the first 2 zones. Cant say I am getting ME vibes or are you talking about how engrossed you are.

Yeah Mass Effect not the best comparison to the actual content. I mean I know we aren’t on spaceships and such, but just the feeling I got playing those game.

gogogogo tho

It’s nice, but it’s not MMO nice. I think it’s safe to say that WoW is now a single player RPG with online mode. The game that popularized MMOs has thrown in the towel. Again, I like it, but I liked the WoW of 2004 more.

It has a story, which… Feels great. Finally, it’s not just hecking… Absolute garbage.

Yeah I make this thread with a caveat, in a way. I know this isn’t the traditional MMO. I know this isn’t for everyone. But it is for me, and I love it.

I think Blizz knows their audience now.

This is … probably closer to true than a lot of people want to admit,

But, I directly benefit from the change. And WoW is kind of THE MMO when it comes to it’s place in the genre. So I can’t really complain about how it wants to define itself.

More like Dragon Age vibes.

You’re right in that it doesn’t really feel like “WoW” to me. I get Super Mario Brothers 2 vibes. It’s like you have taken a different game and dressed it up as World Of Warcraft. The style, the hold-your-hand progress pretty linearly storyline, even the backstory and where we are doesn’t really feel like WoW to me. It’s like someone had an idea and developed it and decided to just convert it into WoW.

i dont like it, its like were on a ride going through some sort of funny house. We have no choice but to stay on.

I was thinking of just how much the experience reminds me of assasins creed valhalla’s story lines, except with that game i know what i’m getting and signing up for and it looks amazing.

This is essentially the same experience but with more abilities and much worse graphics.

If I want to play a single player rpg I’ll do one that actually has character progress beyond one level number that doesn’t even matter, a good story, and core mechanics from the current era.

You’re meant to.

UNTIL IT IS DONE.

Who is stopping you from enjoying anything? People who voice their dislike of the general pace of the levelling experience? It’s weird how much RP nerds seem to need others to validate their experience in game lol.
