I’m coming back after playing in Legion and some of BFA. I really just want to know if its just me or does the game just feel bad now? The time wasters were okay in the past because you had an amazing (at the time) world to look at. Now things feel dry and cheap. The faces and voices don’t match up well and you start out by jumping into a rushed story with no clue who’s important or not. As someone why really wants to play this game again, I just don’t understand why it feels this bad.
Well we didn’t, because we’ve been playing the whole time.
I dunno literally none of what you just said makes sense to me.
The world looks better than ever (Hallowfall is amazingly designed), no clue what you’re on about with the face and voices, and it was perfectly clear to me who was important in the story because you spent the whole campaign questing with them.
I am just sad there isn’t something to look forward to log into daily for. Like right now until the season starts I only have reason to log in maybe once a week to once every 3 days. The world quests don’t really respawn daily like they used to (think this changed in dragonflight) So it feels really awful. We got delves sure, but doing them atm feels pointless because 1. you get those curios you can’t sell which feels bad having to keep deleting them and 2. Tempted to use the keys every single time I do the bountiful ones so it’s best to just not tempt myself. So here I sit, logging in once or twice a week for around 3 hours each time then i’m done. It’s kinda sad. Hopefully the season start changes this.
The fact that items are still being given that need to be deleted on grindable content is a bad sign.
If you think this look bad you wouldn’t last a month in Shadowlands. This xpac feels a lot better than the last 2: better well thought zones, actually meaningful story, character development and so it goes. Could be your nostalgia warping it for u but i’m liking the xpac so far. It’s very slow tho, I wish we could have 2 weeks of M0 to practice and some more incentive to play.
Its possible they hotfixed it and I missed the memo, I havn’t gone into a new one in awhile because the issue frustrated me and I don’t want to end up being tempted to waste a key.
Combat still feels good, but just the story itself is hard to wrap my head around. Dragons as people are just part of the game, and they can ride dragons.
stock UI (mainly target and player haven’t gotten any better. Where’s the excitement, the drive to explore, and just any reason to put time into the game? Gearing is a mess and doesn’t really matter if it all looks the same. I just don’t see a reason to do all of this build up if for something that goes away each xpac.
it really isn’t clear who is important or not- the TWW story is equally new to all of us.
Thrall is on the key art loading screen.
Try not to be yourself when returning players post here. It’s offputting.
feels no different than SL/DF to me. same formula, different paint.

WoW doesn’t really operate like a game anymore, more like a software as a service.
The idea isn’t to create a good game the way you and I remember that as we can all see- the idea is to just trick people into buying product and weaseling out of refunds as per blizz practices when the reality of the product comes to light.
Some time before or during shadowlands when blizz did an internal purging of certain peoples… they seemed to have lost a lot of the cinematics team. Shadowlands had some of the worst crafted cinematics, not even student quality, with a tonne of visual and aural bugs, and as you noticed, long horsefaces with weird lips that don’t line up with voicelines. Blizz hasn’t fully recovered from that yet, not sure they will anytime soon.
But it’s a great example of how little they care to create a quality product, but would rather just dump money into marketing teams to sell said product.
I skipped SL and DF, because things were going in this direction. They haven’t improved much and it feels like a cheap version of itself.

same formula
Do you play wow?
From Shadowlands to now, we’re not playing for gear drops or valour, we’re playing for an ever-increasing Crest grind. With every patch the crest grind gets higher. So not at all the same formula with crappier paint.
Rep is now renown and by now it does not drop in dungeons, raids or BGs like it did in SL.
So again not at all the same formula.
Those are just things off the top of my head which deflate your bot comment.
If you don’t play wow, maybe you should not talk about made up experiences in wow.
Still pretty watching Beledar shift in real time.
Game might not be for you then champ. Move on.
Hi OP, DF was kinda the same except with somewhat better zones.

haha, bold words when this xpac, and the last xpac drew nobody in
The only place that looks kind of bland to me is ringing deeps. I feel like it’s just me though, I’m just not interested in generic underground area with some earthen buildings here and there
People are allowed to not like/find games enjoyable, not sure what awesome story you made in your head, have seen some of your L takes so dont really care either. Not sure why people choosing not to play has anything to do with me saying he might be in that boat. Another L for the Kalaen.

yea, it looks like some cavernous side area to loam nifflen or whatever.
