Last I checked the big thing in mobile game design is gatcha typically in the form of pushing monetisation as well as daily forced log on, typically with rewards just for logging in daily as well as usually a monthly one as well so they punish you for missing a day.
Secondly reduced access, again to push monetisation (sensing a pattern?). Typically they will give you X numbers of plays in which ever game which slowly generates over time, after using all those accesses you either can’t play the game or you have to buy into their system for more energy to continue playing. (If you want to see how this really looks in an MMO have a look at SWtOR which literally uses this kind of design)
Battle passes are typically found in two forms, granting seasonal access to something either the game in general for a limited period, or the competitive season, or alternatively they will give you standard access normally but require you to pay for the season pass to access the cosmetic unlocks available to that season, again as a means of monetisation of the game.
None of that remotely relates to WoW to any degree, even if it did WoW is following the exact same monetisation structure it has had for years, so are you saying it’s always been a mobile game?
Just because people “agree” with you doesn’t mean they, nor you are right. All it means is that other people also happen to dislike certain thinga about the expansion and regardless of if they have anything to do with mobile games will simply agree with their outrage.
