I am literally out of meaningful content to do because the rewards and difficulty make it not worth doing. Try to understand that. And my situation isn’t unique. A LOT of people have quit for the exact same reason.
You guys can keep wking Blizzard, but everyone knows they screwed up bigly on the rewards and on the difficulty curve.
And they know it. Look at the number of nerfs since CN launch. Look at the nerfs to M+. Even look at the mythic nerfs. My god. I have never seen anything nerfed that hard. Obviously, their content was way off even for the most elite players. That should tell you something. Anyone can make a brutally hard game. The goal of the design should be to make challenging but rewarding content that makes players feel accomplished and have fun while not making them regret playing. Thhis should be the case for all players at their appropriate levels of progression.
I think that people forget that this is entertainment, and that the bell curve really describes peoples’ ability. Sure some like really hard content and that’s fine, they have Mythic and all that. They should design the game for their core audience, not the world first crowd.
It would be interesting to see what would happen if all the casuals left the game. Would it even be viable?
Forget pugging. Even mythic raiding difficulty was horribly screwed up. Look at the nerfs to SLG. Have you ever seen a boss nerfed that hard?
That should be a sign that they screwed up on this. The M+ nerfs across the board should be a sign they screwed up on the difficulty for M+. The nerfs across the board to normal and heroic CN before are a sign they screwed up there as well.
It’s obvious their intent was to make this the “git gud” expansion. It’s also obvious this has failed miserably, and they are now trying to make it better. Unfortunately, they have doubled down on some horrible design decisions, such as covenant balance, class balance, and the gear rewards.
They will come around eventually, but each time they screw up like this, it becomes that much harder to win people back.
As to the snarky comments above, it did stop a lot of guilds from clearing mythic. That is why they nerfed it.
False equivocation on nerfs. This raid was nerfed more than any other raid in the last few expansions. It is obvious they messed up the difficulty curve across the board.
This post perfectly captures the essence of my frustration with this. Rather than argue one ought to find better people and make dedicated groups to play with, they really should look at rewarding difficulty modes more suitable for pugs. Not everyone is in a guild. Not everyone should need to be in a guild to meaningfully enjoy the game.
They did nerf like that back legion and bfa, i still remember the horrors of karazan and cathedral dungeons before nerf. Even fetid from uldur was impossible to kill before they nerf him in the world race
The thing with CN is that last tier was pretty easy to get CE with corruption carry, so many guild got it, a bit like emerald nightmare in legion. When they went in CN, they don’t have corruption to carry them so they hit a wall.
Overall its the same experience in general, I’m just happy that i can play alt since essence and corruption kill it.
Just tossing this out there, maybe “turbo casuals” reply because they were not only agreeing with the comment they replied to, but are reinforcing the point.
And the simple fact you call people “turbo casuals” tells me you value yourself based on your playtime way, way too much. Not everyone bases their identity on how fanatic they are over playing a video game.
Anything you do in a pug IS harder, there is no denying that.
I failed +2 keys because 2 of the dps had a 1k overall, 1k deeps the ENTIRE dungeon.
I also ran Lady on normal. Had a 200ilvl hunter doing 1.3K. If that wasn’t bad enough, said hunter was also taking the add back home with him instead of stacking near the tanks.
A good guild doesn’t mean a hardcore 24/7 guild. World first. There are many casual decent guilds out there.
