This class feel underdeveloped and too simplistic

Every other class has better utility, is more complex and has more depth. Whereas this one felt like it was made in a weekend by one guy on a deadline.

Lol yeah, we lack real depth of say a monk, or rogue, or hunter even. Oh well. Doubt we will get any upgrades. Just be happy to wield warglaives of Azzinoth xmog; no one else can

Tbf, this class was created and still is balanced around the big expansion features.

People caught on to that during Legion Pre-patch. I’ve even noticed that, but at the time I thought the artifacts were the last time blizzard would be doing expansions like that…

Unfortunately…

It has been a meme for quite some time that DHs are a two-button class. There is some truth to that unfortunately. But a lot of classes have been ‘dumbed down’ this expansion. For example, Frost DK is very boring to play (IMO) because of how simple their toolkit is now.

I appreciate Blizzard’s desire to not require players to have 30 keybinds to play their class like it was at release but classes still need some depth to them or they just aren’t fun to play anymore. DH at least has flashy spells that are interesting to look at. DK is meh and was the reason I made a DH in the first place

Disagree. Most people can’t even play the “easy” classes" effectively, so adding depth just for the sake of it is a pretty stupid idea. If you want to play the piano, enhancement exists. DH has enough abilities in their kit for fluid gameplay, skill like Blade Dance just need to be useable and not a dps loss lol.

Instead of complaining about it on the Internet, play something else. There you go, simple solution.

“complexity” you’re playing an mmorpg, not an esport. if you want complexity, wow is simply not the game for it.

the design philosophy behind demon hunter was supposed to be simplicity, which appeals to some and doesn’t appeal to others. it has it’s space, the problem is gimping it due to simplicity - there’s no reason for this. complexity shouldnt be innately added to classes, it should be added to content. mythic raiding, +20’s, etc.

there’s two reasons to take a damage dealer to content - damage and utility.

Don’t you have that reversed? MMORPGs are supposed to be complex and your characters are supposed to have depth. That’s the whole point behind RPGs. Esports on the other hand are designed around 4 buttons. Only so much depth can be expected with them.

Now that said, you can still have a simple rotation despite a class having depth and complexity to it. Take Death Knights for example. Their rotation is the most mindnumbing experience ever as you literally bind all your DPS cooldowns to a single key, and then rotate between 2 keys till those DPS cooldowns expire. The class has ‘complexity’ and ‘depth’ though because a lot of the utility and support skills the class has are engaging and fit into specific niches.

The DH doesn’t have anything like that because it literally has a builder, a spender, and a burst skill. It has no real cooldowns. No real group utility. Nothing. The class is designed quite poorly and that poor design is biting them in the butt now because there’s no where for them to go to improve the class. They can’t improve Chaos Strike because that will invalidate the entire design philosophy of Shadowlands. They can’t keep increasing Blade Dance because you don’t want a class that can do high sustained AE damage. There’s literally no where else for Blizzard to go because they didn’t give the class anywhere else to go.

One thing i like about DH is the idea of the meter. you press one or two buttons and build towards something. to some extent i dont even agree with bladedance as the cool down is a bit of a counter to the meter building. wow has a big problem with cool downs to the point that it’s like playing the piano at times. so i just want something different with less cool downs.

So more stuff around the management i think would be ideal over adding more cooldowns

No is not, have the perfect amount of skills. The rest of the classes are as well. Was a warrior previews expansion, and a shaman. Have a paladin and a hunter as alts.
Most is one or 2 skills generate. And 3 to spend plus utilities. And few defensives most classes have 2 in general.

Example hunter traps flare pets skills are utilities, self heal and shield are survival.
Warrior get rage. Jump and dash are utilities. Etc…

And talents supposed to give you a little of flavor in how to play your class. Dh is not simple, an ld I would even say might be harder since you need to know more when to use the skills. Other class pop shield click whatever self heal … Repeat… Dh need to know when to del rush into a fight or away. Control chaos strike in demonic windows, making bauer you have resources. In bfa even when to use blade dance to avoid been hit. Dh is not simple,. Is fun

I come from playing in 2005, you don’t have that many fingers for all the skills that existed back then. They had to increase the amount of skills bars, back then there was an addon for that.
